Not much to see but free to walk around at your leisure. Probably worth a look on a nice day for the views out across the bay. No real exhibits inside, just some info boards about the history and a couple of municipal offices

Impressive edifice in a lovely setting. Worth a walk around - the views are great. You don't go inside but the walk around it worth doing and it is free.

The castle is almost entirely open to visitors, free of any charge, from 8:30 AM till 7 PM everyday, except Sundays. The view over the Vesuvius and the Gulf of Napoli is downright amazing and the little peninsula that the castle is on has a hole plethora of cafes and restaurants that serve a range of local cuisine and amazing seafood.

Wow! A place offering wonderful views on the sea. You don't need to pay for entrance to get in the area. There are plenty of restaurants around.

The oldest castle in Naples which was built in the 12th century. No entry fee. We can walk up to the top of the castle (there is a lift too) and I just loved the view from the top. On one side, the beautiful Naples city and on the other side, the blue sea with lots of seagulls and small boats. Also, a distant view of mount Vesuvius and some islands.

Beautiful view. The castle is not well developed as a tourist attraction, but nevertheless it is full of people. Maybe the free entrance also contributes to this. The area is cleaner than others in Naples, but still needs improvement.

Impressive castle. The entrance is free. The legend says that the Roman poet Virgil put an egg in the castle foundations to strengthen it. Panoramic views from the castle terrace.

Walked here along the water hoping to catch a nice view which is exactly what the castle offers. You can see a lot of Naples from the top and magnificent views of the coast and the water. Spectacular blue in color and one of the best views in Naples by far.

Being Welsh and coming from a land which was oppressed and controlled by the use of castles I can soundly say this is a very impressive castle/fort. Commanding views and strategically placed could quite easily hold of a small invasion although the lack of exits and the fact that only a bridge connects it to land leaves it vulnerable to being flanked and surrounded. Room for improvement but could hold out for a while and potentially break/defend against a sea invasion or a naval blockade as long as they were within range.

Beautiful location for this castle and rich history. This castle must have been amazing back on its glory days. Walk-through the hallways, stairways and courtyard and reminisce back into history. The view from the top of the city is amazing. Is worth seen and the entrance is free.

Great attraction. Totally free to visit, allowing to to climb to the top and see the 360 panoramic view of the bay. Feels like a city within the walls or castle from the "Game of thrones". Saw many people just chilling, paintin g and writing on the top - no one was bugging them regarding it. It was also not as busy as we thought it will be. Be prepared to climb many steps - we didn't saw any elevator installed which is nice but unfortunate for disabled people. Also many people are chilling on the rocks next to the castle - it seems to be allowed too.

Interesting place to spend a couple of hours, it’s free so that’s a bonus. Take it easy and have a nice walk. Not much sign posts so you don’t really know what you are seeing or how old it is.

Well preserved castle, a real gem. And it's free. There is an elevator to take you to the top if needed, but I recommend to walk up. The view of Mt. Vesuvius from here is awesome.

One of the symbols and the most ancient castle in Naples, built in the first century B.C. on the islet of Megaride and part of the iconic panorama of the city gulf. It needs to be visited at least once if you are in Naples. From the roof a breathtaking view.

Must must must visit in Naples. I found this the best castle amongst all the other three. And this one has a free entry too. Beautiful views of the ocean and Naples. The castle architecture and the structure is also quite good to look. Do take some time and visit.

Haven't been back since 1988, however do plan to return someday. Would always take a walk by in the 1970's & early 80's. My grandparents home (when they were alive) and where I was born. And my mother grew up is not to far. 💖💜💖 Please enjoy your extraordinarily wonderful experience here, time flies by in the wink of an eye. Please Like 👍👍👍

The fortress looks giant but the places where you can visit inside are not that many, so it may take around 15-20 minutes to go through the premise. A good viewpoint to the bay of Napoli and the entrance is free. I wish they opened it later than 19:00 o’clock so we can watch sunset from here.

This ancient, no-charge castle offers unfiltered views of Vesuvius, Naples, and the Mediterranean. An easy 30-minute visit, be sure to check out the various art pop-ups in the rooms near the top. The walk is steep, but there are not too many stairs.

Astonishing views at the sea and city. The entrance to the castle and view points is for free. The castle is quite big, there are several good locations to enjoy views from the above and take photos. We were there in June and there was a great photo exhibition about environmental problems (entrance was also for free).

Great views and picturesque castle. Could do with better upkeep though and more educational signage. Read up on the history before you go.
