Сан-Доме́нико-Маджо́ре (итал. San Domenico Maggiore, большая доминиканская церковь св. Доминика) — церковь в историческом центре Неаполя, одна из наиболее значительных достопримечательностей современного города. Является частью бывшего (и более старого, чем церковь) доминиканского монастырского комплекса. Необычно расположение церкви: апсидой она выходит к одноимённой площади, а её (скрытый от глаз) фасад выходит на одноимённый переулок.
Строительство храма было начато по приказу Карла II Анжуйского в 1283 году и закончено в 1324; при участии французских архитекторов Пьера де Шоля (Pierre de Chaul) и Пьера д’Анжикура (Pierre d’Angicourt). Вскоре храм приобрёл значение центрального храма доминиканцев и арагонской знати в тогдашнем Неаполитанском королевстве.
It is a very nice church, it was a pleasure being there, there are nice paintigs on the wall, and the whole composition is awesome. I would totally go back if I could. I recommend it to everyone.

This church is wonderful monument of medieval culture and architecture. There unimaginably many tombs of local aristocracy with effigies of deceased in full suits of armor. Admission is free but any donation is welcomed and highly appreciated. Visitors are allowed to take non commercial photo without flash light.

Beautiful basilica with two facades: one facing the piazza and the main facade reached via a courtyard at the opposite side of the church. Impressive works of art inside, including a chapel filled with spectacular frescoes by Pietro Cavallini (early 14th cent.).

For tourists: gorgeous interior, with richly ornamented ceiling and a side chapel of beautiful 700-year-old frescoes by Pietro Cavallini. For the pious: I'm sure it is an inspiring place to pray!
