The Catacombs of San Gennaro are underground paleo-Christian burial and worship sites in Naples, Italy, carved out of tuff, a porous stone. They are situated in the northern part of the city, on the slope leading up to Capodimonte, consisting of two levels, San Gennaro Superiore, and San Gennaro Inferiore. The catacombs lie under the Rione Sanità neighborhood of Naples, sometimes called the "Valley of the Dead". The site is now easily identified by the large church of Madre del Buon Consiglio.

Brilliant ancient place. One of the 2 catacombs. The ticket is the same and it's possible to buy it at any of these 2 locations. It's valid more than a day so you can visit the second catacombs the next day. The visit was very impressive. We got a lot of information from our English speaking guide.
Very interesting and well delivered tour in English. There is another nearby site that you can also visit as an extension to this tour. Fascinating project developed by a very dedicated and caring team. Highly recommended
Very good guided tour that starts every hour and explains the history of one of the oldest catacombs in Europe. Our guide was particularly friendly and knowledgeable. These guided tours started as a local initiative to promote jobs in this neighbourhood in Naples (Sanità) that has hard times with unemployment.
Very good and interesting guide.... If it's skeletons and Bones you are interested in, they have they moved to one of the other catacombs in Naples.....
Interesting place, however very short tour (40min) lots closed off no opportunities to wander nice but disappointing
