Belmont Mansion, also known as Acklen Hall, and originally known as Belle Monte, Belle Mont or Belmont, is a historic mansion located in Nashville, Tennessee. It was built by Joseph and Adelicia Acklen to serve as the center of their 180-acre summer estate in what was then country outside the city, and featured elaborate gardens and a zoo. They lived much of the rest of the year on her plantations in Louisiana.

Do not miss this. Best tour I have ever done bar none. Better than any home tour I have ever had. Very knowledgeable and fascinating story. Favorite thing we did!
Loved the history and beauty of this house and college. The artifacts are amazing and the tour guide exceptional. She really brought the family to life. Two stories are beautiful decorated. A must visit!
The tour of the mansion was wonderful and enlightening for the time period. We highly recommend taking the tour if you have time. Our guide was fun too.
Currently the house is under restoration. The entry fee accommodates the fact that you can not see the whole thing. What can be seen is very good and we enjoyed the guided tour.
If you enjoy strolling through 1800 opulence than this is definitely the thing to do. A very grand estate with fine furnishing and design right on the Belmont campus. It's an easy self guided tour that can accomplished within 30/45 minutes or obviously longer if take your time.
Currently the house is under restoration. The entry fee accommodates the fact that you can not see the whole thing. What can be seen is very good and we enjoyed the guided tour. Would be 5 stars if we got to see the full tour. They are working on it though.
I definitely recommend for history buffs, but even if you’re not it’s an interesting tour! The amount of original pieces was very cool and the story of the house is quite interesting. I would speculate that it is haunted, as there was weird really cold spots randomly and it has a slightly eerie feel to it.
A beautiful mansion full of Tennessee history. Enjoyed the architecture and the story behind the house. Can't wait for them to finish the renovations of the second floor, would definetly like to return for a second visit just for that tour. It's on the grounds of Belmont University, which is where the university gets it's history too.
Nice tour and beautiful mansion. They put in a lot of effort to recreate the original look of the mansion
If you love history this is a great place to visit. Very knowledgeable tour guides.
Went for a guided Christmas Ghost Tour and it was absolutely fantastic. The guides were highly informative and really did the place justice. I've had Belmont in my life since it was regarded as a College and this is it's crowning glory. Well worth a closer look and visit! Definitely opt for a lengthy, informed guided tour!
Beautiful place to tour and it is loaded with history. Go on a pretty day where you can tour the gardens at your own pace. The House is amazing and a very fun experience, it's like stepping back in time. However the tour guides are ok, ours was fun but did not seem to know a lot about the house. She got a little annoyed at our questions
Interesting and the tour guide was incredibly knowledgeable. The mansion itself has been kept in good shape, and the furniture is either original or from the time period. The grounds are beautiful and kept up well.
This was a fantastic tour of the Belmont Mansion. The tour guide, Kelsey, knew absolutely everything about the woman who had the home built and all the facts on the history of her and the home. Loved it.
Great place to visit. Patti is a great tour guide and the love of her job is shown in the enthusiasm when telling the story of the house and its former owners.
Currently the house is under restoration. The entry fee accommodates the fact that you can not see the whole thing. What can be seen is very good and we enjoyed the guided tour. Would be 5 stars if we got to see the full tour. They are working on it though. Please keep in mind of when this was posted as the remodel may be finished. Would not hurt to call first.
Good for those interested in the history. Not a plantation tho. Also, you can't walk around and must be part of a tour that takes 60 minutes. Lady who gave the tour was very knowledgeable... Wouldn't recommend it for a quick stop.
Absolutely stunning home with an amazing history. The tour was very informative and the staff was very friendly. Highly recommended
