Safdarjung's tomb is a sandstone and marble mausoleum in Delhi, India. It was built in 1754 in the late Mughal Empire style for Nawab Safdarjung. The monument has an ambience of spaciousness and an imposing presence with its domed and arched red brown and white coloured structures. Safdarjung, Nawab of Oudh, was made prime minister of the Mughal Empire (Wazir ul-Mamlak-i-Hindustan) when Ahmed Shah Bahadur ascended the throne in 1748.
The tomb is located near the Safdarjung Airport at the T junction of Lodhi Road and Aurobindo Marg (earlier name Mehrauli Road) in New Delhi.

The Safdarjung Tomb complex is a great place to learn something more about the long history of Delhi. The complex has a beautiful park with a lot of old ruins. Most importantly, it is such a peaceful and calm place that one almost forgets that they are in Delhi. It is a lovely place to come picnicking and /or escape the hustle and bustle of Delhi. The Safdarjung Tomb complex, just like the other similar complexes in Delhi, has plenty of old tombs around - some of them almost in their original state and others are just an indistinguishable pile of stones. The Safdarjung Tomb complex is definitely one of the places to visit if you are in Delhi. Bear in mind that it gets quite busy on the weekend.

A quite place, One can spend some time away from Delhi's noises. Its a good place if you want to relax or interested in history. Nothing much to see there. Parking and Drinking facility (during my visit it was not working) is available. There is a little shop that sells chips, cold drinks etc. outside the complex.

A very serene place to spend time during day. It has very nice architecture with details. People who love photography would be glad to come here. Entry fee is also quite minimal for locals. It's not that crowded even most of the days. The look during sunset looks very good.

I am absolutely in love with this place. It is deeper than what meets the eye. There is small canteen where you can grab quick yum snacks.

A really nice monument, is in a fine condition now after the renovation work by the archeological survey of India. The tomb is well maintained and is a great place for photography. There are big gardens where one can sit and enjoy the view. The fees is 10 rupees per person. Unavailability of drinking water spoils the fun here, there is a washroom but is in a bad condition, and is chargeable.

Safdarjung tomb is located in the Delhi near the safdarjung airport and it is a must visit place. The peace you feel there is just amazing. We can kind of day this as a second Take Mahal . The view we soon as soon as we enter the tomb is just amazing. Just outside the tomb, there is a refreshment shop as well. You can have your snacks there. Also, the charges are very nominal , just 10 rupees for parking and 15 rupees per person for entry. You can hear the birds chirping there and you can easily spot a peacock as well.

Beautiful place.Wonderful garden inside the premises. But some monuments are not in good condition and some guidelines stone script must be there so that everybody can learn the importance of this tomb .Center of attraction is Safdarjung tomb which is in good condition. And one more thing I have noticed that separate toilets for ladies and drinking water are not available. Overall this place is good for visit.

What a fantastic piece of historical architecture this is. If you're even remotely interested in the rich history that this city has or you enjoy just looking in awe at such amazing structures, you owe it to yourself to pay Safdarjung Tomb a visit. It is one of the quieter of the many historically rich places that Delhi has; just perfect for a quiet evening.

One of the "good old" monument places in Delhi. The place is green and clean as always. Can be inspiring to some people, can be boring to some others. And yeah, it wasn't much crowded when I went there. Not sure if many people visit it or not.

Beautiful monument especially the four huge minarets just make it an architectural spectacle. Great renovation job by the archeological survey of India. The vicinity lawn area is huge and a good spot to spend some time with family and friends. Typical muslim architecture where the tomb is the centrepiece and the land plan is an attempt to replicate the heaven. As usual, there is a mosque adjacent to the tomb

A very very peaceful and neat and clean place located in the heart of Delhi near by सफदरजंग airport and easily notice from the road. You can visit here any time specially government school students are come here for excersio. This place will be very nice for a short term picnic with your family 👪. Here you can see old monument and historical information about सफदरजंग and Indian history. Once you will go there you love this place and you come again and again.

One of the beautiful historical monument in Delhi. It seems well maintained. However, inside you'd find mostly couples hanging out. This place doesn't have toilets so make suficient arrangements before planning. There is lot of greenry around the tomb. Inside the tomb, you can feel cool air even though if its hot outside.

I really loved the atmosphere... Lush green.. And unlike other places.. There's free water.. I went there during summer.. So, I find that really great. One thing that I hate the most.. Couples have literally destroyed the monument by writing their names, defacing the walls, etc.. There are No guards to stop them.. Even I had to stop some of them from writing their names... And I request you too, to please not mess up the monument in any way.. And stop others from doing so.

When I visited this place it was undergoing renovations. It's beautiful and calm place surrounded with plush green gardens on all the sides, typical of every Persian style architecture. The carvings on the inside of the mausoleum are very beautiful.
