Awesome place for kids. Everyone absolutely loved it. I was easy for our group to stay together. Wish they had more and easier to access bathrooms bit other than that no complaints. You even get to watch a mini movie. I will definitely come back again. Well worth the ticket price and very easy to buy online and skip the line.

I Love going to the Aquarium here. There is always so much going on! I love the stingray area where you can interact with stingray. Along with that there’s many helpful volunteers that will do their best to help inform you about all the animals at the aquarium. The view of the river is beautiful. One of the best things to do is when the Mermaids show up and swim with the animal in the tank. If you don’t have a membership, I highly recommend it. It allows access to all of the Audubon Nature institutes in New Orleans.

More expensive ($30) than many other aquariums but worth the visit! Came with a free admission to see a film in their "Giant screen" theater. The movie was excellent but short (20 minutes) with great sound on a huge screen and in 3D. The exhibits were all well thought out and colorfully designed. There was a large tank with sharks and turtles. The Maya fish exhibit was great. Penguins had a good viewing space above and below water. The sea otters were being fed when I was there and lots of fun.

Amazing aquarium, nicely decorated. A bit small, but nicely done. Well located, just on the side of the Mississippi. We really liked the movie, the humid forest section and the bird cage. You can buy food for the birds to land on you. Was included in the New Orleans City Pass. Nice little break for the kids to enjoy.

Great for the entire family, had so much fun a little expensive for me though. Location really close by the parking and make sure to get your ticket stamped by the information for a 5$ off 😄take a picture of the map to save paper. Everybody was nice and helpful. We missed the birds section by the food court so we ended up going back Coz we wanna make sure we explore everything. It was fun! 😉

Have loved this place both times I have went. The kids loved it too. There is so many exhibits and a variety of stuff to see. A place to eat and 2 gift shops. The people are always friendly and willing to help. There is a elevator for strollers or wheel chairs. It's fun for all ages... Just can get a bit pricey with tickets and parking.

I love aquariums! This was a good one overall, but not necessarily worth the ticket price (we had the New Orleans power pass which included admission to the aquarium). It would be a great place for small kids to explore. I enjoyed seeing the cute penguins and otters (try to go at feeding time), touching the sting rays, and watching an albino alligator. We happened by the shark tank at feeding time which was great to watch!

This is a special place. The exibits are truly inspired. There are many fish species and the informational signs made it pretty easy to take a self guided tour. Though it is very close to the Bourbon Street spectacle it is very removed once you are inside. We especially enjoyed the stingrays feeding. They do kind of rushed us through though. (The best stingrays feeding experience is at the Tucson Desert Museum.) Also interesting were the sea horses and frogs.

Over the years, this place has changed very little. That isn't a bad thing, though! It really is a nice aquarium, even if it is a little short. The layout is well done, and I enjoy seeing the subtle changes over the years. The large viewing tank is always a crowd favorite, but the otters and penguins are a personal favorite. Easy to spend 2-3 hours without batting an eye, too. P.S. this Audubon facility, like the Zoo, is sensory inclusive. The front desk can offer a bag that includes headphones, fidget toys, and staff trained to respond to those with sensory processing needs. Good on y'all, Audubon!

Came here with the kids and I had a great time. They enjoyed the aquarium so much. The place was EXTREMELY family friendly. It added some GREAT family memories to our new orleans trip. The staff was helpful and very knowledgeable. They were filled with tons of "fun facts" We are already talking about coming back!

My boys loved seeing all of the sea creatures. However, the food was horrible. We spend $50 on 4 people and we couldn't even eat them. They were hard as a brick! There were no kids for our drinks. Also, drinks are only allowed in the food court. This is semi understandable. However, I breastfeed and after nursing three times with nothing to drink I thought I was going to pass out. There should be more areas to drink or have a closed container rule.

The Audubon Aquarium of the Americas is really a NOLA gem. It is highly educational and allows for a range of interactive activities for children. In addition to the attractions and activities, there is a food court for guests. There are not a huge selection of restaurants to choose from, but it is very nice to have the option to eat there inside of going out somewhere else where you may end up paying more. This aquarium is also a great option for families if the weather does not permit outdoor excursions.

This is a must stop on your visit to New Orleans! We walked through at our own pace , and we were able to enjoy all the exhibits. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The animals are beautiful! There are 2 gift shops, one on each floor. On the second floor, there's a food court. Just don't expect straws! (Dangerous if the animals were to get them. ) There's a small aviary too!

I’ve been wanting to go to this aquarium since I moved to the city. It did not disappoint! They have a wide array of sea animals. We got to watch the otters play! I had no idea they were as big as they are but when you’re that up close and personal with them, you realize they’re huge. And goofy as heck. But honestly, one of my favorite parts was feeding the birds at the aviary. Worth the visit

The Audubon Aquarium was everything I expected and more/better. Our family (children aged 4 & 6) went on a Friday the 2nd week of summer and I expected it might be crowded but it really wasn't. We could easily walk to all the different areas as a group and hear each other talking, etc. It was clean and very well taken care of and the staff/employees were all kind, friendly and helpful. The gift shop had several reasonably priced items for the kids to choose from (which I hadn't expected... figured they would be walking out with each a $15 toy that was worth $2). The otters were SO FUN to watch - be sure to go and watch their training session. Get there a bit early to be up close because it is amazing to watch! The penguins were also a favorite. The kids loved the one penguin that stayed swimming by the glass most of the day. The jellyfish are amazing too - they are so beautiful they don't even look real. The only complaint would be the food court. My husband waited in line to order for 10 minutes (despite being only 2 people in before him) and then it was another 20+ minutes before it was ready. They said the pizza was delicious though. My son and I didn't eat - he has severe food allergies and they didn't have anything safe available to order at either area, not even classic Lays chips, which is the one thing everywhere usually has that can hold him over until we leave. We will definitely pack a lunch for him next time so we can all eat together.

Okay, the Food Court was terrible. The food was affordable, but the overall area was small, and the staff were... not so helpful. The fish and wildlife variety are gorgeous, and I really enjoyed the tunnel with the stingrays. However, at the time that I went, I think a couple of student classes were headed there on a field trip or something, because there were enough kids with the same shirt and a supervisor to fill an entire grade, and they were making SO MUCH NOISE, so I had a hard time trying to concentrate on frogs and seahorses. Really, the kids are my only complaint. There were more people in the tunnel than fish in the entire aquarium, and I had to wait around fifteen minutes for enough people to clear out for me to even SQUEEZE in for a view. Some of them were screaming bloody murder at the penguins, and tapping on the fish glasses as if their lives depended on it. Oh right, the penguins are another complaint. The water levels for the penguins to swim in were shallow and the animals themselves looked quite uncomfortable sitting on the rocks. There weren’t many of them, and the glass was dotted with water and scraps like a broken phone screen, so they were very difficult to photograph and view. The gift shop was adorable, and there were a whole section of penguin plushies, and it really made up for the lack of the actual animal itself. The aquarium itself was beautiful and I loved it, however, I went at a time supposed to be quiet, and found myself in a ruckus of noise and impolite youngsters.

My two year old daughter and I came here about a month ago and we absolutely loved it. She in particular loved the giant turtle. It was very clean and fun. I loved the play area for the kids. She had a great time just jumping and running around. I applaud whoever came up with that concept. The only thing that I found difficult was there being two floors. My daughter does not like elevators and we had to ride it because I had a stroller with us. In the end she got on because I promised her the mermaid she had spotted in the gift shop on the way in.

So much to see and do! As with any aquarium or museum, you can expect to spend a good bit of money. It's fairly expensive, but they have so much to maintain. The variety of marine life was impressive. We saw and learned about so many things. Our group had all of the major age groups represented, and not a single one of us was bored or unimpressed. There was a children's play area that was an unexpected surprise, and gave our kids a chance to play while the grown-ups got to sit and relax a bit. The whole facility was well maintained, perfectly air-conditioned (we all know that matters in the summer!), and a wonderful fun and educational experience. We could not have asked for more!

So much to see and do! My (toddler) daughter's favorite part is watching the penguin show and touching the sting rays. My favorite part is the bird area and the frogs. We both love going in the summer to beat the NOLA heat! It's an easy streetcar ride away from much of the rest of the city (which is much cheaper and relaxing than driving).
