New York City Department of Parks and Recreation.
One of the bigger parks in NYC, it is remarkable how many things you can do here. There are many roads to stroll, run, or bike along on to take in both nature and the atmosphere of NYC for peaceful and leisurely fun at any time of the year, even in winter. One of the most beautiful times to visit this place is during autumn when the leaves start to enhance their colors. The views of nature as well as the pictures you can take in the park are breathtaking. There is also a seemingly endless number of grass areas where people can just sit and have a picnic or just hang out. There is also a zoo located in the park as well as the Museum of Natural History on the wear side of the park. Many playgrounds are also set up all over the park, making this place great for families with kids. Tall rocks are also accessible to climb on to take in nature, relax, and revel in the life of NYC. A significant peak to climb is the one right by the ice skating rink, which is another popular attraction, where you can get a stunning view of some of the buildings along the southern side of the park. There are also many vendors as well as a concession stand for grabbing a bite, as well as a theatre by the concession stand that usually hosts reenactments of Shakespearean literature. The park is truly lovely and is a great spot in NYC for both locals and tourists alike to spend time in.

A must see Park!! There are a lot of squirrel and different kind of trees. I loved walking through it during my days in NY! Central Park is definitely the oasis in the ever bustling NYC. A stroll through the park is very enjoyable. You will find yourself greeted by many cute, friendly off leash dogs. The scrivener are beautiful and the NYC backdrop is uniquely New York.

Central Park is ALL that. Take a stroll through this very world famous park known for its small lakes, beautiful bridges, a castle, and even a zoo! You can very easily get lost here. My sense of direction was tricked quite easily when I decided to not use Google Maps. I simply got lost in its beauty. Watching joggers, runners, and walkers passing by is very common here, and this beautiful piece of nature is quite large. This piece of wilderness in the middle of a huge city is a welcome sight. There is a hidden gem here which is a zoo. This small zoo features a Snow Leopard, Couple of Grizzly Bears, and my favorite, a trio of California Sea Lions, one of which is a rescue sea lion from my home state of California. There is much to see here at Central Park from Horse- drawn carriages, to the beautiful trees in their Autumn/ fall colors, to small creatures. The sound of birds, honking horns all provide a kind of musical background to it all. Central Park is a very enjoyable place. There is much to see, hear, and do. Probably best enjoyed during the day, to early eve.

Central Park is, hands down, one of my favorite places among all the places I have ever visited, and now that I live in NJ I'm a stone throw away and I love it. I don't think there is any other spot in NYC that reflects the way the city was at the beginning. It's natural beauty enhanced by the man-made structures scattered all over gave the park its magical quality. In every corner you can find a favorite hideout, a little creek, a bridge, a statue and all the way you can get lost in its winding paths that takes you to a different place every time. The charming horse-drawn carriages, the skating rink, Bethesda Fountain, they all hold a charm you can only find here and the quiet in it makes you forget you are in the heart of the city that never sleeps.

What can you say about such a wonderful park. The restoration and preservation organization has done an excellent job of keeping the park in a perpetually beautiful condition. This time we saw Alice in wonderland, and one of the baseball fields. If you're in NYC and don't go to Central Park you are missing out! Lots of fun things to do during the summer, and a peaceful place to wander around during the winter. Plus, the skyline views are out of this world!

It will be lovely soon when all the flowers are in bloom and the trees grow leaves. The carousel is fun for children and the nice wide sidewalks accommodate the Sunday crowd in March nicely. A talented opera singer in an acoustically ideal place was fun entertainment. Painters and other musicians were also amazing entertainment along with a skateboarders. Overall a delightful experience and very relaxing. Great place for runners too.

Beautiful park. All its made out to be in the movies and more. Loads of cute birds, squirrels, and dogs. Great for any weather, just wear the right clothes. Bigger than I'd imagined, you can walk for a good couple of hours to explore. Some interesting exposed bedrocks and erratic boulder deposits. Very cool!! If you're choosing between here and another sight, definitely go here!!

Amazing city park, so much to see and do. We witnessed families, tourist, runners and cyclist. It's almost like this is the heart of the City where many come to relax and escape the bustle of New York. It was actually one of the cleaner places in the city. Very enjoyable experience walking the meandering paths and enjoying the cool winter air when we visited. Even just sitting and people watching for a bit is relaxing here. Also try the candied nuts.
Kelly Mooremars 23, 2018
This is a real treasure right in the middle of the city. We spent quite a few hours here walking around and looking at the lakes, trails, bridges, gazebos, and tunnels. Lots of runner and families everywhere. I loved the old trees through out the park. It’s a great place to go people watch and the city skyline looming over the park is quite beautiful. If you only go one place in Manhattan, make this the place! Absolutely gorgeous!

It's one of my favorite places in New York City. Every visit to this park makes me find something new. It's so beautiful in every season. I love the nature and honestly it's like a heaven in the middle of bustling life that lies outside its perimeters. You'll definitely have a lovely time here. Take some pictures.

If you haven't been to Central Park before, its definitely worth a visit. The idea of a park that size in the middle of a city is mind blowing! When you are in the park, it's almost like an escape from the city as the trees acts as natural sound insulators. Immerse in some fun and leisurely stroll with friends and family, It's about 6.1 miles worth of walking and scenery, more than enough for a full day of nature in the city.
Johnoy Gordonavr. 22, 2018
Definitely do the guided bicycle tour. The guys were amazingly funny. Price was definitely worth it. I will definitely return with my children to have the experience again. Loved that they were able to tell us different facts about different places in the park as well as buildings surrounding the park.

Honestly, love this park. Even in rainy weather you can always enjoy the beauty of it. Went to the Central Park Zoo with younger cousins. Was a great experience. Saw the sea lions getting fed, some penguins and tropical birds all in one place. Had a dinner at the Tavern on the Green after. All within walking distance from each other

If your visiting New York and you have kids, I think this is a great place to take them and get them to burn off energy. I never knew that the park was so big. It does get quite populated on the weekends. Definitely a place to come if your want to walk and sight see and even people watch. You don't have to so the whole park in one day either.

Central Park, New York, New York. What a wonderful visit we had here! We hired a guide on the big trikes who drove us around, shared the park history and allowed us plenty of time at the key stops. We participated in (watched) a professional flash mob set up a wedding proposal that was touching and beautiful. We visited the Strawberry Fields memorial to John Lennon by Yoko Ono, a poignant and thoughtful experience. Had all the buildings around the perimeter of note, noted. It was a beautiful spring day and this visit with a guide was one of our many high points of our ten day visit. You'll love the park!

It's big. It's lovely. It's popular. That's what she said! And she was talking about the one and only Central Park. Definitely worth a stroll. Recommend a horse drawn carriage ride, and weather permitting, a little canoeing in the lake. I took two beautiful Eastern European women I met on a train here (pictured) after we spent the night together at Hotel Wellington, down the block, which I'd wanted to stay at because that's the name of the rich white guy whose body Chris Rock's character inhabits in "Down To Earth" (a fun remake of "Heaven Can Wait"). I can't think of a nicer way we could have enjoyed a fine morning in the city than a good ole amble through Central Park!
Nico Monettimai 20, 2018
Enormous park. Far larger than most visitors realize, though I had a pretty healthy expectation going in. There are almost no public restrooms and the ones you find are going to be in pretty poor shape, so know that ahead of time. If you have any allergies at all (or maybe even if you don't and you're visiting from out of town), take something for Allergies as I noted some people's experience was significantly affected as a result of this! If you can rent a bike, I recommend it as an easy way to move around major areas of the park, but its definitely not a replacement for walking in some areas. I recommend visiting the Egyptian Obelisk, personally.
Robert Burnhamjuin 12, 2018
This so is awesome. My children enjoy it so much we spent over an hour just walking around the Tropic Zone. The birds in that area are beautiful. They loved watching the bats. The moment we walked in the peacock started preening, opening his tail feathers for attention. Great place for pictures too. They have a fantastic show with the seals during feeding times, several times a day. My girls really enjoyed watching them. The zoo is small enough to enjoy in a single visit, and enjoyable to visit more than once. Great experience.

Big and beautiful. There is so much you could do in Central Park that it would be easy to get lost. There are limited bathrooms and they aren’t always clean, so be aware of that. I would recommend finding one or two things you are interested in seeing and spend time enjoying them. You can often find musicians playing. If you stop and listen, be courteous and leave a tip!
Ryan Linkousjuin 4, 2018
Great place to visit if you want a piece of nature in a big city! Lots of nice scenery, walking areas and pet-friendly environments can be found. There's also a zoo and some museums/information places where one can learn, which is great for the family. Also a good place for dates, with all the benches, ponds and trees making it look quite lovely/romantic when there aren't too many people walking by and/or screaming... Overall will take a good day to see everything, but be wary that a lot of the activities will need money. There are bathrooms throughout the park.
Cockroach275juil. 6, 2018
Central Park is an experience of its own. The walking paths are nice and wide. Check out the carousel, the horses are all hand carved. One fun fact is that the Trump organization owns the lease to the carousel, I am really surprised he hadn’t put his name on it. You could spend an easy day at the park, with all there is to do and see. They also have a fine zoo.
Craig Longjuin 24, 2018
Beautiful, well kept park. We saw the volunteers working to keep the place in good condition on our walk through. There are musicians playing live music so take a few coins/bills to give them when you pass them by - they are brilliant to listen to. We were surprised by the size of the park. It is easy to spend a whole day wandering from artist to statue to pond to tree. And it's free to enter.
Gabri Janse van Rensburgjuil. 10, 2018
Lots and lots of space. A lot of great rocks for climbing and taking pictures. I will definitely get a bicycle next time I'm at the park. It was really nice to walk along the water too. There were people walking their dogs. People on horseback which was amazing to see!! And some pretty Interesting bridges.

it is one of the largest artificially designed parks I've seen in my life. I think that without him, the New Yorkers went crazy :) a lot of paths a lot of greenery full of small squirrels and turtles a huge amount of people with dogs, everything together allows you to move from the concrete jungle to a real forest. Park you can meet artists who do your portraits of caricature I highly recommend because it costs only 5 $. we borrowed a boat which you can rent for an hour 15 dollars. I do not recommend cycling in Central Park because you miss all the most beautiful points in this place.
Wojtek Gąsiorkiewiczjuin 29, 2018
It was one of a kind experience in the centre of New York city. It is huge and people of all age can enjoy the park thoroughly. It was too big to cover by walking yet there were runners who are into fitness running all around. Not to be out done cyclists were riding with more zeal. If walking is a task, cycling rickshaws are available for a joyride as low as 3 dollars per minute!. Horse driven carts are also available. The park boasts of zoo as well. There are few pounds and one of the pond is named as duck pond. The castle was closed for renovations. Alice in Wonderland attracts lots of clicks from young and old alike. The park is dog friendly as long as it is leashed. It has a few play grounds. Weekend music is an added attraction.

A lovely park to be in New York City especially in the summer. Jog, run, cycle, or just a stroll is so much fun. There is always a crowd but the park is simply huge so every single minute is just enjoyable. Many walk their dogs too but seems that owners are responsible to pick up the poop as the park is relatively clear of dog poops. The police also make rounds so you feel really safe in the park.

Everything about this park is amazing. I could spend days here and still not see everything it has to offer. The views of the city are nice, it's quiet compared to it's surroundings, and there are many different paths and walkways. Lots of history and interesting things to look at. At night it's well lit on the main paths and the lights from the city reflect beautifully in the pools/ponds. Perfect for photography or just to sit and look at. I love this park.

Such a beautiful park amidst a concrete jungle. There is a wonderful natural balance of private pathways, expansive fields, exciting tourists and biking locals. We walked from 7th Avenue to the Museum of Natural History and back. It was a decent hike! We wish we had joined the bikers in the end so we would be able to cover more of the park during our short visit. We were thrilled to meet some Canadian geese in vacation too! Next time we’re in NYC, we will bring a picnic here.

We wish we had joined the bikers in the end so we would be able to cover more of the park during our short visit. We were thrilled to meet some Canadian geese in vacation too! Next time we’re in NYC, we will bring a picnic here.

What can you say? We did an hour and half tour of the southern half of the park. We saw a couple get engaged at "lover's bridge" we saw another wedding party taking pics by the fountain being sung to by an excellent gospel choir with a man making bubble the size of children in the background all while a fashion shoot was going on and non of that was on the actual tour. Central Park is everything you believe it to be. We only spent two hours total but I can't wait to go back. The boats look really romantic and we will make a point of visiting them next time for sure.
