Radio City Music Hall is an entertainment venue and theater at 1260 Avenue of the Americas, within Rockefeller Center, in the Midtown Manhattan neighborhood of New York City. Nicknamed "the Showplace of the Nation", it is the headquarters for the Rockettes, the precision dance company. Radio City Music Hall was designed by Edward Durell Stone and Donald Deskey in the Art Deco style.
Radio City Music Hall was built on a plot of land that was originally intended for a Metropolitan Opera House, although plans for the opera house were canceled in 1929. It opened on December 27, 1932, as part of the construction of Rockefeller Center. The 5,960-seat Music Hall was the larger of two venues built for Rockefeller Center's "Radio City" section, the other being Center Theatre; the "Radio City" name later came to apply only to the Music Hall. It was largely successful until the 1970s, when declining patronage nearly drove the theater to bankruptcy. Radio City Music Hall was designated a New York City Landmark in May 1978, and it was restored and allowed to remain open. The theater was extensively renovated in 1999.

Great staff! The people there are very friendly and always ready to help. They love their job and you can see it in their faces, they are very proud to work for the company and that’s something you don’t find everywhere and especially in New York . The place is amazing! The chandelier is magical! Take time out during the holidays to explore Rockefeller center and buy a ticket to see one of their show. Trust me you won’t regret it. Christmas spectacular has to be part of your holiday. NO JOKE!!!

Truly a piece of New York City's artistic history. The venue is very well managed. With so many people going in and out per event/show its very impressive how clean the building in its entirety really is. Also, the security is very attuned to the needs of those coming to the facility. They are courteous and polite all while making sure they do their job efficiently and accurately. The bathrooms are constantly checked and cleaned, the vendors are polite and the ushers are always at the ready to help you and your party to your seats. Word of advice for anyone planning on coming during the holiday season to see the "Christmas Spectacular" with little children, come to an early show and take the little ones to the bathroom BEFORE the show starts. Even if they don't have to go, believe me, from one parent to another, it will save you the stress. After the shows, the bathroom lines are incredibly long. Also, it's viable to take advantage of an early show because NYC is known for its incredible food. Once outside the Music Hall, show goers can take a bite of some of the best food within just a couple of blocks. The earlier you go to a show, the less crowds are around once you leave Radio City. The foot traffic around Radio City is constantly saturating the streets but keep in mind, the later you go, the more time it may take you to get to see your show. At the end of the day, it's all worth it! Enjoy the show!

Fun, beautiful, one of the highlights of our visit to New York We were in New York on a four day three night tour and the Radio City Christmas Show was one of the attractions included in the tour. We had seen the rockettes before in a touring production but the Christmas Show was really special and spectacular. The two organs playing prior to the show were also a treat. Our seats were not the best but it didn't detract from the fun or the beauty one bit. The 3D special effects were really fun even for us old folks. We will certainly go back if we do another New York visit.

This review is based on the Radio City Christmas Spectacular featuring the Rockets. I've been to Radio City Music Hall a couple of times, really like the place, it's old but the set up for concerts and the Christmas Spectacular is really well done. The show itself was great, really enjoy the whole show from beginning to end, the Rockets, Santa, the Dancers, Singers, Tour of NYC in Christmas and Jesus Birth, everything is done so well and precise, it's a wonderful experience. To me, the best parts are the Rockets, Tour of NYC and Jesus Birth. Now, I strongly suggest you arrive at the function at least 1 to 2 hours before, the crowd gets crazy and restless around the time when the show starts, the staff I don't think does a good job of handling the crowd outside but also it's our fault for arriving late, some staff are rude, others were really nice. Overall the show was like the name says, Spectacular, it's totally worth it. I might go back next year.

This was my first visit to this iconic venue in New York City and was not disappointed. It was fantastic. It was built and recently restored in an art deco style, which is stunning. When I was there in late November, the Christmas Show with the Rockettes was showing, but unfortunately was not able to book tickets, as I was not in town long enough. However I do the Stage Door Tour and was well worth doing. The rest rooms deserve a particular mention, as they are true art deco style. A visit here will not leave you disappointed. Well worth it.

Great theatre! If you haven’t been there, get there a little early so you can explore the different levels. The bathrooms are gorgeous, with powder rooms and they are have different art and stylings. They still have phone booths which are super cute. Staff are great and helpful. The seats and views are amazing! I believe not a bad seat in the house. Amazing acoustics

I worked there and it was enchanting experience at a hard time in my life. Hard working a professional staff. They could work a bit more on retention though. My advice for patients is to get the hot cocoa in the beginning it is not that it is bad it is that it is organic so it goes bad fast. I wish for what you pay they could take you back stage and show you the magic of this place. It is really outstanding.

Love the show! Bathroom was like a spa/dressing room. It was very big inside; I was all the way on top and still enjoyed the show! Free Popcorn and sodas was such an extra surprise! Also, security was excellent and very helpful! There are very big flat screens Tv's to assist far away viewers! They even have outside heaters all around the venue! Can't wait to come back again! Thanks!

Such a wonderful experience! The statement, “seeing is believing” is the best way to describe this theater. I attended a graduation here and I was in awe of how magnificent this place was. I thought to myself, if I’m in awe at a graduation how would I react if I attended a show here. This is a iconic NYC location that every tourists (and locals) should go and see.

Fantastic venue and breathtaking engineering! From the outside you cannot fathom the scale of the auditorium! We attended an event and security was fast and throughout. The lobby space is wonderful which makes waiting in line pleasant. From the second mezzanine we got the ‘obstructed view’ but it was a perfect frontal view of the stage with a bit of low stage equipment in front.

We enjoyed our experience! The Christmas Musical Show was Spectacular! I even cried during the story of Jesus. The music and dancing was just so fun. It was very, very good!

Theatre was clean and beautiful. Most seats are fairly good view although there are a couple of spots where you would have a column some what obstructing view slightly. Acoustics are also really really amazing. I saw Tori Amos Here in 2009 and her piano was just so beautifly amplified by the place itself. Bathrooms were fairly clean as well and there were plenty of concession stands on all floors to keep your whistle wet. Would highly recommend seeing a show here, venue is just lovely with a great intimate ambiance.

Historic & legendary place! Greats shows and leg clearance in every seats. They need to improve on snacks(more menus and good quantity of drinks). Strongly recommend watching any show here. You will not forget the moments you experience.

Graduated school this year. It was epic and surreal. It's everything you'd expect. Unless it's air conditioning. It was 10am and waiting to walk inside to be seated looked like the scene from Total Recall when they are running out of oxygen. Once we went to the auditorium it was great.
Marie Greco | Jul 11, 2018
It's a beaufiful theater. The seats are comfortable and there is plenty of leg room. I was up in the 3rd tier and still had a good view of the stage. Plus there were large TV screens on either side of the stage so you had a closer view. I saw Kathy Griffin 6/25/18 and she was very funny. Would go there again for show.

Gorgeous! Rockettes were fantastic! Did I mention gorgeous! We had a wheelchair and disabled child and the staff went above and beyond to help us navigate our way to our seats all the way down in the second row. I was very pleased with every aspect of the theater.

I had seen programs on TV that were live or filmed here and one of my favorites was their Christmas special. Well, I got to see it live in person right there. It was fabulous. Earlier in the day, we took the tour and got to see back and under the stage. There are a lot of stories about the place the guide shared with our group that added both entertainment and interesting aspects of the place. What a grand place, glad I did all of thst. Check out the pictures of the Men's Room I posted. Unbelievable! (8-O)

Radio City hall is a classic New York venue that every tourist has to visit. It is home to countless amazing shows, of course including the Radio City Christmas Spectacular. And, perhaps unexpectedly, the backstage tour is amazing! It is so interesting to get to go behind the scenes and stand on that stage, imagining a giant crowd of excited audience members waiting for the show to start.

Brilliant and beautiful. When you think of New York, this assuredly is one of the landmarks that comes to mind. Located in perfectly where you can walk to see other attractions and open for viewings. Visited during the holidays, and was awed by this venue. If you have a chance to attend an event here, I highly recommend it.

An iconic theater located near Times Square and The Rockafeller Center. Arrive early if you would like concessions. The lines are long and it's practically a mob of people all going for it. Better yet, make sure you are well fed beforehand. This is the home of the world famous Rockettes and their performance was breathtaking. More affordable than a Broadway show but still highly entertaining. Would definitely come back.
