The Woolworth Building is an early American skyscraper designed by architect Cass Gilbert located at 233 Broadway in the Tribeca neighborhood of Manhattan in New York City. It was the tallest building in the world from 1913 to 1930, with a height of 792 feet (241Â m). More than a century after its construction, it remains one of the 100 tallest buildings in the United States.
The Woolworth Building is bounded by Broadway and City Hall Park to its east, Park Place to its north, and Barclay Street to its south. It consists of a 30-story base topped by a 30-story tower. Its facade is mostly decorated with architectural terracotta, though the lower portions are limestone, and it features thousands of windows. The ornate lobby contains various sculptures, mosaics, and architectural touches. The structure was designed with several amenities and attractions, including a now-closed observatory on the 57th floor and a private swimming pool in the basement.
Beautiful building. Outstanding the Architecture is reminiscent of the time it was built. Domed stained glass ceiling with pictures of angels and others is too amazing for my words. That and the dramatic marble stair case create a gorgeous lobby.

This building is one of New York City's gems. There is currently scaffolding around the building, but it can be enjoyed from a distance. The one thing that is negative about visiting the Woolworth building is that you can't go inside the lobby unless you have particular business that takes you there. This is very disappointing. The facade of the building is made of terracotta and it's full of beautiful sculptural details. A little known fact about the building is that the Terracotta facade was made at the Atlantic Terracotta company, which was located on Staten Island. For now, you can enjoy the building from a distance. There is also a small Starbucks located on corner.

Beautiful building. Old New York Architecture. One thing the elevators are very small. That is because elevators were not prevalent at the time it was built.

If you are looking to visit an iconic building go there, the Woolworth building. Private offices so you have to state your business when you get there. Clean and friendly access

The tour we were on took us through various areas of the lobby and basement. The building itself was absolutely phenomenal with rich history and character. The history of how it was built and the character of Woolworth himself was very interesting. If you get a chance to go on the tour please sign up and enjoy the magic that is the Woolworth Building.

The building is in a very congested location but City Hall and its lovely park is right across the street. The building retained much of the original design inside and has an exquisite lobby and many small but efficient elevators. The rest is mainly offices for various businesses. It is always clean and safe.

Very cool historic building. Not really for sightseeing, but if you have to visit the building due to work or health, do take time and look out for the old historic detail architectural designs.

Dark room very reminiscent of an English pub. Limited menu: sandwiches, salads, burgers. But every mouthful was completely on point and the service was prompt and friendly. Perfect light dinner.

Beautiful historic building. Note for tourists... photography is not allowed anywhere within the building. There are signs at the entrance prohibiting entry and photography by tourists. This is a post 9/11 precaution.
