Travers Park is a 2-acre (8,100 m2) community park and playground in Jackson Heights, Queens, New York City. It is located between 77th and 78th Streets, on the north side of 34th Avenue. More than half of the park is occupied by an asphalt play area, with basketball and tennis courts. A children's playground with leaf-and-vine shaped spray shower occupies about one third of the park. There are also restroom facilities, handball courts, a small picnic area and a bicycle rack. In 2012, a segment of adjacent 78th Street was transformed in a permanent Street Plaza and the sports area of a nearby school was bought by New York City and added to the park. Although Travers Park is surrounded by trees, it does not have a lawn or any significant green space.
Travers Park is a heavily used park. It is located in City Council District 25, which ranks 50th out of 51 Council Districts in the city in terms of park space, according to the nonprofit group New Yorkers for Parks; the only Council district in the city with less park space is on Manhattan's Upper East Side, near Central Park.

Park is currently under construction. 1 block from my house. Park is going to be getting a makeover with a new performance stage. Very excited for this summer.

Lived next to this nearly my whole life. It really means something, not to just me but almost everyone I know in my neighborhood. It's been a safe haven for me and my friends for decades. But it's kinda dirty...

It's a hidden gem and one of the best farmers markets in the city. Not only is it educational with their food workshops, has some of the healthiest farms and is dog friendly, it has some of the coolest variety of produce!

Its not all that great. They are currently updating the park so maybe it will be better but for now this park deserves 3 stars.

Great have been taking my kids here for 9 years. Need to be renovated and crowded but I have hope. Also check out the farmers market on Sunday. It is the best.

Nice park but they allowed vendors without permits to sell junk food and p kids, you cant even walk in peace without hearing chips, soda, ice cream, candy

Nice time to spend out. Washoom facility avilabe but fulctuation of its(washroom) opening and closing time is a downside of the park with not much notices.
