I have to say that this is a little gem in the middle of Cornwall. Its not the largest house you will ever visit but I count it as one of the nicest. A small formal garden at the front but grounds at the back serve to remind you what it would have been like with a couple of terraced greens, a lower vegetable garden and lots of apple trees which produce fine fruit. I should know, don't tell anyone but I picked an apple and ate it. Wonderful. The top terrace also offers young children some basic fun activities. The inside of the house is equally lovely. You enter via the great hall and walk through the various rooms. Lots of masterpieces of art and some fine furniture. The cafe is in the stables and barn. Standard NT cafe but hey ho, you can't expect everything. My summary is 10/10 for a delightful couple of hours. I suggest, a must to visit.

Beautiful place and a lovely day out with a little baby. Push chairs and large bags/backpacks aren't allowed round the house which is a bit of a faff with an 8 month old but there are free lockers for bags and a place to store push chairs. Plus you can hire a hip belt for free to balance children on as you carry them around. The rooms are beautiful and there is lots of staff around to give you background to the rooms. Lots of interactive things to do for children/playful adults. Nice gardens to walk in and free parking. The Satnav took us an interesting way to get there that took us through a ford... not ideal but there is a more main road route to get there!!

This national trust house is a small one but has lots of history, the talk is very informative & interesting. The guides dotted around the house will answer any questions. walks, lovely gardens. Has a cafe too. I even tried on the armour vest & helmet. The vest is very heavy. Recommend a visit.

Didn't get time to look round the house, as the object of the visit was the 'easter egg hunt' in order to entertain the girls for a couple of hours. We did eat in the restaurant, which is pretty basic and limited for choice compared with other NT properties we have visited. Would certainly return if in the area again as the house looked very interesting!

An attractive house with lots of interesting features. The history and use of the house is still under investigation with the recent discovery of a long tunnel leading from the house.

A beautifully well presented 16th century manor house tucked away down Cornish lanes just outside of Newquay. The house and gardens are small and a visit will only take a couple of hours at a push, but it's well worth the visit. The staff and volunteers are very informative and have to be some of the nicest ones I have met, especially the 82 year old gentleman who helped a lady try on the armour he had my wife and I in stitches and it was worth the money just to meet him. A pleasant coffee shop cafe and fun garden games kept us entertained. Top marks.

Exceptionally nice place. Not huge, a half day will be enough. Make sure you eat there particularly if you like lemon meringue. It was gorgeous.

We loved it. Amazing place and history. Great staff. Enjoyed letting my daughter dress up too. The price of pie in the cafe made me feel a bit exploited.

Second visit to Trerice, the gardens were much more enjoyable on this occasion, much warmer and in fabulous full bloom. The house was no less interesting, from the stone it was is built from to the interior plasterwork and the furnishings. The way the history of the house is presented gives a very personal sense of the past occupants. All in all a great day out along a typically narrow Cornish road.

Really friendly staff. Had a craft sale on and a nice lady volunteer, who was manning the sale, gave me a cable needle when I explained I'd forgotten mine. Don't get that sort of offer often
