La cattedrale di Santa Reparata (in francese: Cathédrale Sainte-Réparate de Nice) è il principale luogo di culto cattolico di Nizza, nel dipartimento delle Alpi Marittime, situata nel centro storico della città , in place Rossetti. Costruita in stile barocco nel XVII secolo e basilica minore dal 1949, è sede della cattedra del vescovo di Nizza. Ciononostante, essa non è la chiesa più grande della città , primato che spetta alla basilica di Notre-Dame de l'Assomption.
La prima cattedrale di Nizza, dedicata a Santa Maria Assunta, sorse nel V secolo all'interno della città fortificata, sulla collina del Castello; era a navata unica e terminava con un'abside a pianta quadrangolare, sostituita in epoca carolingia da una semicircolare; era dotata di un battistero, costituito da un edificio a sé stante, le cui tracce però non sono pervenute nel corso degli scavi archeologici che hanno interessato l'area nei secoli XIX e XX. Nell'XI secolo l'edificio venne ulteriormente ampliato e portato a tre navate; terminati i lavori, fu consacrato nel 1049. La cattedrale, che si presentava in condizioni di fatiscenza, venne ricostruita tra il 1429 e il 1486; furono edificati un ampio coro con cripta sottostante e di numerose cappelle laterali.

It's free to get in and well worth a look. The exterior of the dome is exquisite too.

Nice church in the historic center of the city, worth the visit if you are there . The church isn't so big, but it's well decorated and it has very beautiful interiors.
