Nuremberg Castle (German: Nürnberger Burg) is a group of medieval fortified buildings on a sandstone ridge dominating the historical center of Nuremberg in Bavaria, Germany.
The castle, together with the city walls, is considered to be one of Europe's most formidable medieval fortifications. It represented the power and importance of the Holy Roman Empire and the outstanding role of the Imperial City of Nuremberg.

OVERVIEW: I don’t usually give 5 stars unless they go above and beyond. This place did. They have a massive collection of Armour and weapons but that isn’t the coolest part. The castle itself is amazing. A tour guide gave us the behind the scenes tour and it truly was incredible. PROS: Absolutely must see this place while you are here. They thoroughly enjoy showing their military history. CONS: Absolutely none. You will have made a bad decision if you don’t visit this place. Pics to come later

Really recommend going to the castle, best thing we have done so far. Loads to look at, excellent variety of original pieces to look at. The castle it's self is amazing, the shear size of it alone is enough to be impressive! The spire is worth going up for the views and the pictures showing the destruction during ww2 highlights how much has been rebuilt.

I was not expecting to love this castle as much as I did. Long and interesting History here, I was really impressed. If English is your only language-- no worries there are descriptions in English here. We went up into the tower and caught some great views and we saw pictures from WWII and you can see the damage from the War. You can do an audio tour as well. The price of admission is fairly decent as well. I would highly recommend ! This is a place you need to check out if you're a history buff!

Very interesting and well re-constructed castle with a long history. There are English descriptions for most of the displays that give good insight into live in the castle over its use. Going up the tower gives an excellent view over the city. Staff were friendly and helpful and the cost of entry to all exhibits was 6 euro for a student. You can spend time in the castle grounds for free though, so definitely worth a visit regardless of whether you'd like to see inside and the exhibits.

Good, we were running late did were a bit rushed for the whole tour. Well presentation was cool (you need to know when the presentations are, so ask when you buy your ticket... no early or late admission... so watch the clock) , climbing up to the top of the tower was good for the photo shoot and interesting construction. Castle tour was ok... skip this part of your short of time.

Good value with some great views. ticket gives access to the exhibition, an interesting talk on the wells and water of the castle and entrance to the tower with its interesting architecture and excellent views. Price is reasonable a 14 euro for two and if you just wish to look a the grounds and gardens you have no need to pay. One of the main Imperial castles in Germany it is well worth a visit if your in Nuremberg.

Just a plain old castle, but the story behind the castle and it's king would make it a special place to visit, if in Nürnberg. Don't miss out on the exhibition in the great walls of the Castle and without that you wouldn't understand what's special of this castle compared to others. Plus, the view is awesome of the Nürnberg city from up here.

The paintings and tapestries are very beautiful and gives us the knowledge of the intense talents of the artisans of a bygone era. The priceless articles are very responsibly maintained. Good and clear explanation by the guides. A place definitely worth visiting.

The beauty of this landmark can only be comparable with its historical importance and the architectural impact. The views are amazing and it is a miracle it survived all conflicts for more than half a millennium. It dominates all city is well preserved and it seems that the more you are in there the more you discover. Walking and breathing the castle air has a bit of emotional it is a true European experience and for me he best way to finish a Nuremburg tour. Gardens are a marvel and in sunny days it is amazing. Unforgettable.

A great view of the city and worth seeing (and walking up the hill) Depending on the weather you could spend a lot of time, up here. Tourist and friendly staff complete the picture. The gift store is offering additional information about the castle's history.

It's a beautiful castle which is mainly divided into four parts : gardens, tower, deep well and the exhibition. Reasonably priced and kids under 12 years are free of cost. It will take 3-4 hrs if you thoroughly see the whole castle and cover all the four parts. It's clean and peaceful and staff is very friendly to guide you through the details of the castle. It's lot of walk for the small kids so carry their water bottles or munches which they can sit up in the tower and enjoy the view while eating.

Very nice castle to visit. The restoration is great. You don't have to pay to walk outside. I paid to enter the building itself and it's worth the small fee. I love the views from the windows. If you can, see the well that's offered ever 30 minutes. It's cool.

This castle is a must see. The audio guides helped bring the history alive, as there are no furnishings to speak of, yet the architecture just impressive on its own. The grounds and gardens are well kept and serene. I've visited dozens of castles throughout Europe and this was one of my favorites.

Very nice walk around the caste. You should definitely visit this place, there is beautiful panorama on top of the castle. You can see the rooftop of Nurmberg . Now there is a little reconstruction of some houses inside the caste, but still the place is open for visitors. Really authentic atmosphere and lovely houses inside. Deeply recommended. Entrance is free!

It was a beautiful place. The guide was very informative. The only issue we had was the rudeness of the girl at the ticket counter. We were looking for information from her and she snapped at my husband and proceeded to tell us no tours were available for several hours. We then went to another ticket window after deciding if we should stay, only to find out there were tickets available for a sooner tour. The girl we bought our tickets from was so sweet and friendly. We appreciated her.

Unfortunately when we visited there was a lot of repair work being carried out and there were vehicles and heavy machinery in the courtyard. It made me wonder why there was no disabled parking space up there. It is a very steep walk up to the courtyard. It would probably be a lovely ace to see under different circumstances.
