Stunning even in the rain in October. Great views up a very steep hill (we got a taxi) however this was made even more amazing when my fella got down on one knee in the rain and proposed to me. This tower will always have a special place in my heart.

Nice view of nearby isles. Tower looks great in night in red color. Looks like a crown on the city.

McCaig's Tower stands an impressive height above Oban town, boasting incredible views of the outside area as well as it's own spectacular form. The structure is worth the visit to those who are; physically able to make the climb, and not intent on catching a ferry shortly. Best viewing is in sunlight, whether for those external views (an observation balcony is present) or for the structure itself.

Brilliant views over Oban bay. Ideal photography location for wedding events etc. Only ten minute walk from town centre. We'll with a look.

Maybe the main attraction of Oban! It's a stunning view point of the town and harbour. You can see for miles around and with the winder snow it was magical. There is a car park at the bottom or it's just a 15mins walk up from the town centre. We spent a good 30mins here getting photos and a exploring. There is a resident cat that follows visitor around!

A really neat place to visit at sunset. Make the 7-10 min walk uphill to this free location to take some pictures and enjoy the moment. Great view (see pictures). No bathrooms near so go before heading uphill.

Great venue to view the spectacular sunsets in Oban. I wish they would hold off turning on the accent lighting until it was a little darker.

This isn't the most exciting tourist attraction in Oban. However, if you want some excellent views of the area, then I would recommend a visit.

Outstanding views from the Tower over Oban. A definite stop off point if you're in the area. Sit on enjoy the peace and quiet. Take some fantastic photos from within the Tower and from the vantage point.

Amazing views over Oban Harbour, easier to drive to than walk as it's atop a hill overlooking the town. If you have a clear day it's ace.

Interesting monument. Not a must see, but if in Oban it's worth a drive up. The views from McCaig's Tower are beautiful, and the story of it's creation is worth reading.

Free attraction. Amazing views even on a rainy day! Interesting history. Kids loved running through the gardens. Free car park next to it too, it is a small car park though.

It's a climb up there and will test your lungs, but at the top you can rest a while and enjoy some spectacular views. If you are reasonably fit, go for it. You'll not be disappointed.

Beautiful place to walk up too. There's a car park just outside if you have trouble walking up as it's quite a walk. Once you are up there s a little passage which leads you to a beautiful view of the town. The roads are tight if your planning on driving there so I don't recommend driving up with big cars

An interesting sight to view and an interesting view to sight! Great Vista's of Oban harbour and some historical value too of a man who sought to help others by having this built. Access is via steps or pathway.

Lovely gardens with some benches to rest on. A man was busking there playing a violin. Was pleasant to listen too. Views over Oban and beyond beautiful. Worth a walk up to just for that. There are 2 ways up there. One with no steps or one with 137 steps. Needed a rest before the top! Quite steep. Not for the faint hearted ... Thankfully there are two benches at different levels to rest at.

If you are in Oban, McCaig's Tower will find you. The tower watches over this fishing capital of scotland. There is parking at the base of the tower, you climb up to find yourself at the top of Oban. The view from this stony facade is fantastic. You can see the rise and fall of roads, the cast sea and the beautiful similar houses that occupy the places in between. Entry is free and there is no timing restriction

Steep walk up to McCaigs Tower but well worth it when you reach the top. The views are spectacular. If you aren't feeling as energetic or have any difficulty walking you can drive to the base of the tower. There is a small car park that's also free. Entry to the tower is free and there are no time restrictions on how long you can stay. There is a small garden at the top within the tower and a couple of benches. There are also a couple of benches on the viewing platform where you can sit and take in the views.

Nice to visit if you're in the area. Not too difficult a walk from the carpark, there are stairs and a footpath. Nice views of Oban and over to Mull and the Isles. Interesting history, too!

Very interesting monument. Haven't seen anything like it in the UK. It would be cool if there was more information about it though
