Small but free and on a Sunday you can park right outside for free. Just check opening times as certain times of the year it closes as a type of off season. Worth a look for free. Right on the sea front.
The actual little problem wiyh this fantastic museum is that you could easily pass by without seeing it or not allocate some time to actually open the door and go in. What a museum. The Staff is extremely knowledgeable and have a great passion for this place. This museum deserves some of your time! You will not regret it and it is good for all ages.
A curious and quirky little museum, too much stuff crammed into one tiny place to take in with one visit.
Really good displays. well worth visiting and a reminder that the rural areas also lost many men in both wars.
Interesting and informative. Good staff. Very knowledgeable.
Museum was smaller then I expected, but entrance was free. The excellence in this museum is in that it shows local history, but told from the perspective of real people in the form of stories. Which makes it really interesting to me. It is about recent history though, so do not expect anything about the time off the Picts or Viking invasions or raids. Definitely a recommendation to visit here on a drizzly morning or afternoon!
Great wee museum, the more you look the greater the find. Well documented, great displays and wee quirky bits of information, free too!!! (Donation box discreetly placed) Good fun staff who’s chat entertained us, a great bunch of lads.
Great little museum, packed full of local information and great staff. Really enjoyed my visit. Highly recommended it if you are visiting Oban.
This museum had such a lot of exhibits and information. It was we'll set out and very informative. The staff are all volunteers and they rely on donations so please everyone be generous.
Good "military banter" between the two voulenteer workers. Their knowledge and expertise in the displays is unprecedented. A well laid-out collection of memorabilia and information, as well as models of aircraft and ships/boats is well worth a visit. Free entrance, but donations will help keep this little gem open and running. If I lived in the Oban area, I would seriously consider voulenteering!
Lovely museum. Definitely worth a visit. Interesting exhibits and film about the surrounding area. Friendly knowledgeable staff.
