Dōtonbori or Dōtombori (道頓堀, pronounced [doːtomboɾi]) is one of the principal tourist destinations in Osaka, Japan, running along the Dōtonbori canal from Dōtonboribashi Bridge to Nipponbashi Bridge in the Namba district of the city's Chuo ward. Historically a theater district, it is now a popular nightlife and entertainment area characterized by its eccentric atmosphere and large illuminated signboards.
One of the area's most prominent features, a billboard for confectionery company Glico displaying the image of a runner crossing a finishing line, is seen as an icon of Osaka within Japan.

A must see in Osaka the Iconic Glico running man signage. It’s by the canal with lots n lots of shopping, restaurants, cafes, Malls, izakayas, etc etc. One can even take a canal boat ride or just stroll around to soak up the atmosphere. Many locals, youths n tourists so the place is usually packed. Great ambience despite it being somewhat crowded. Lots of side street stalls that sell snacks n food also. Huge advertisements featuring many famous Japanese Movie/Drama/Jpop Superstars. Many shopping arcades are linked here also and a visit even at night is good as the entire area is lighted up with many colourful features. Well recommended!

Just another glow sign. But a landmark no doubt. As usual, full of people clicking pictures. The canal in front of it and the bridge nearby do good at night.

This is a good place for shopping photo taking. The glico sign is the famous spot for photo. The food and shop are very interesting decorated. If you visit osaka you have to come here.

It was just a sign..but its the face of dotonbori. No hustle in taking photos better get on the tombori cruise since they stop a while in front of it so tourists can take photos

Extremely crowded but that's to be expected. Love the atmosphere. So cool to see in person!!
