Crazy busy shopping street with the lights and buzz that will give you a seizure if exposed too long. It's a fun place to enjoy Japan in a different light (away from its usual peaceful and gentle nature) and people watch, definitely a younger scene with top notch shopping. Come if you want to walk around, window shop/ shop, otherwise avoid here if you want peace and quiet and less people during a shopping experience.

The Japanese love to eat and here in this gigantic restaurant hub where people, food and their love of lights combine to produce an exhilarating experience. Be prepared to walk amongst thousands of other hungry diners all looking for the same thing. The choice feels unlimited but you know that Japanese food is so delicious it would be very rare to have a not great experience. Highly recommended.

Cool place to visit, tons of stuff to see and do. Everywhere you look is something new competing for your attention. Definitely not the place for a relaxing stroll, but worth visiting if you are already in town. It's kind of like Times Square with all the people, bright lights and sort of party atmosphere.

I will complain for the crowded. Everyone knows that this place is packed before he/she comes here. The place is packed with shopping store clothes/food. The food is great. You can find good food here. The price is not that expensive (700-2000 yen per meal). The clothes though is cheap depending on the store. The Glico ads is here and everyone capture it. You may try too.

A must-go place for all tourists. There are many shops and brands that will be familiar to all. Depending on the seasons, you can get good sales and deals. As a tourist, you’ll be able to get tax-free, 免税, as long as you bring a valid passport. Lots of walking to do, crowded, but overall it’s an experience that you’ll never want to miss. The famous Glico Man, is the main attraction. Thousands flock to Osaka just to snap a photo, or pose with it.

This is the heart of Osaka! A lively area with huge neon signs inviting you to the restaurants that are packed side by side. There are so many places to eat here that it's a foodie's haven. We stayed here for 8 nights last year and absolutely loved the place. If you love eating, this is the place to be! The restaurants close pretty late and most places accept cash.

A must visit for any blade runner enthusiast. Especially at dusk. River tour fun. Massively popular with tourists so few Japanese people here. Very very busy at times. Venture away from the main streets and into smaller side streets for some really interesting little shops and bars.

A must see stop in Osaka, this district is so packed with restaurants, shops.and quirky forms of entertainment, you could spend a year there and still not get through it all! I think the experience is best at night. Also noticed that their are river cruises through the middle of it, bit we never had a chance to take one.

Very busy walking street especially in the dinner time. A lot of fine place for dining. Most of them are super busy and very good deal. I would say best dinner place for visit..

Some really awesome street food, bars and restaurants, but not a place to come if you don't like crowds. The place is absolutely packed in the evenings and there are lines galore for the bars, attractions and restaurants. Retail stores are hard to move around in but if that doesn't bother you this is a pretty cool place with an interesting history. My suggestion would be to stay off the beaten path and venture into the surrounding streets if you need a reprieve from the masses of people moving through this heavily lit area at night. There are some excellent restaurants and bars on some of the side streets that are much more pleasurable to eat and drink at than those on the main drag.

Walk along the canals to avoid much of the crowds. Food is very hit or miss, lots of tourist trap kind of spots, though the atmosphere and kitschiness is all part of the allure I think. Unique area if nothing else!

We just made a quick stop to this area for lunch. The main street is really fun to walk down with its crazy signs. Take a moment to walk down some of the side alleys for even more of an experience. We stopped at a tempura restaurant with really neat shoe lockers. We also saw the cutest pet shop (but also sad) with puppies and kittens for sale. It's just a busy, bustling, interesting, fun area to spend some time!

This is a very lively area of Osaka. Come here early or late. Late night seems to be busy still. There are tons of food shops and restaurants as well as souvenirs, drug stores and cosmetics. Bars, clubs, karaoke pretty much everything is here or a street away. Definitely a must check out when in Osaka, or even Japan! Can get pretty crowded on a Friday or Saturday night, so be prepared for a crowd!

Great place for food lovers. Many food selection that all looks delicious. Not to mention the smell when they cook it. Spread quite long near a bank with many choices of fashion and other stores too. You can hop to a boat to circle this location in case you get tired of walking along the area. They have some live performance sometimes but I am not sure about the performance schedule.

Dotonbori is a massive city. It's not that difficult to get round really. Lots of shops, tax free shops and restaurants. Don't forget to pop into the Don Quixote they sell just about anything you are looking for. I went into a lovely restaurant and the food was tasty. On a nice sunny day, a walk by the river is great.

I love this place! Full of things to do and see... and hear and eat and smell...! Went with my young kids too. A great way to experience the hustle and bustle of Asian BIG city at its best. Clean. Safe. Bright lights. Great food. ENDLESS shopping. I’ll be back again.

The epitome of urban japan. A complex of restaurants and stores packed with tourists and locals. And of course, the neon billboards, thousands of them, very colorful and very brightly lit. The place itself is something else. Be aware of your belongings because there are so many people, it's almost like every man for himself. I saw some police officers on duty, but still. If you wish to shop here, bring your wheeled luggage for your convenience. If you wish to just sightsee, pack as light as you can also for your convenience.

It’s crowded all the time but ultimately that is part of the fun. Always something happening around there. Lots of shops to explore especially the cooking and kitchen area is really a treasure trove. So many restaurants to choose from as well. The crab restaurant at the bridge looks like a tourist restaurant but it was actually great.

What a fun place to visit in Osaka! I had no idea how many blocks this area covers. You have to get a picture with the running man or at least just watch the crowds. There's are endless shops, bars and entertainment. We ended up picking a random bar on the fourth floor some building and sang karaoke with some locals. This is a must see place in my opinion. Makes for a great night out.

Super fun experience! A must if you're in Osaka. Pretty tourist heavy...if I'm honest I heard more Mandarin than Japanese... But if you go just slightly outside the main strip there are many wonderful restaurants and shops around!
