An interesting museum situated beside the great Osaka Castle and nestled within the NHK building... The first moment you stepped into the place was you’ll be awe-struck with the huge globular glass roof... The display was really well managed as it guides you the journey of Osaka since the middle age period

A modern, carefully designed series of exhibits laid out very sensibly. Some rooms are truly dramatic. I'd have given five stars if more of the OMoH's exhibits were captioned for non-Japanese speakers.

Very interesting. Displays are lively and interactive. They have video presentations that bring up the olden times. A very different approach to museum displays

Very nice museum detailing the history of Osaka via artefacts and dioramas. There are also really great views of Osaka since the museum is on the 7-10th floor. The audio guide is a must for non-Japanese speakers. There are lockers for storing bags and jackets.

It was interesting. Just wished they had more variety of selection. I loved playing the game of collecting the stamps here.

Offers a fair amount of information about the city of Osaka from ancient times to modern. As with most Japanese museums, it's most beneficial to get the audio guide, as non-Japanese descriptions will be short or nonexistent. Overall a great museum located right beside Osaka Castle, which you can get a cheaper combined entry ticket for the two.

It has a beautiful exhibits that will show you the history of Osaka since it could be traced back until today. You'll see it develop and it is very interesting. I wish they had life size villages exhibit too. Start with the exhibit on the 8th floor then make your way downwards.

Large building but the actual exhibitions are somewhat lacking in content. Only the permanent exhibition was open when we were there and most of it were reconstructions and dress up dolls. Doesn't delve deeper into the history of Osaka.

Lifesize displays and huge dioramas were amazing, but I felt the museum was lacking in amount of items and sheer content. As a foreign tourist I would appreciate simple English explanations on displays, which would fit fine. The 8th floor archeology display staff was very enthusiastic and helpful! I found it impossible to find bicycle parking at the museum.

Do not expect a complete museum on Japanese history, the museum is on Osaka. However, it is well stocked with period displays and models. The museum provides half a day's worth of content. Located in a skyscraper, it has good views of the surrounding land as well.

I loved this museum! There were so many replicas from various periods in history which made it a lot of fun to walk around. Most of the sets were scaled down but there were some life-sized ones to walk through

Must-see museum in Osaka. Even for people who isn't interested in history. Many models and reconstructions to enjoy. Museum staff know English and trying to be helpful as much as possible.

It is a modern museum. The staff will give a guide paper in various languages to visitor at the entrance. At the highest floor, which is 10th floor, we can see a lot of Naniwa period. There are statues in each floors that show how people dress at the period. At the sixth floor (if I am not mistaken) there is fun puzzle games that have historical lesson. Visitors can also view Osaka Castle and Osaka City from the window next to escalator. If you plan to visit both Osaka Castle and Museum, I recommend you to buy combo ticket for 900 JPY, which is cheaper than separated entrance tickets.

Very nice atmosphere and very kind staff! As three adults we had a great time going around collecting the seal stamps on a rainy day in Osaka. I recommend checking it out if you have time to spare or need a day out of the elements.

If you love the museum, this one shouldn’t be missed when you come to Osaka. With things found in field, restrictions of original ancient life, the museum demonstrates a quick overview for the city history.

Take a look into hundreds of years worth of development and turmoil through Japan's history. Depending on your emotions and attention to each placard and your interest in Japanese history, some of it might make you feel a little tender. Absolutely recommend to any visitors to Osaka.

Not very attractive museum. It has 9 floors and we required to visit any of them. Because the elevator just go up to 9th floor and we can not go down except by escalator. Kinda boring for me. Although it has so many information about Osaka past till now

+ Nice view on Osaka castle and Naniwa palace site. + Nice displays - Unfortunately not everything is translated to English.
