Interesting architecture on the outside. Internally as everyone says it's pretty sparse and reminiscent of a lot of other churches around the world. I think it's a good place to remind you of the reason that the other churches in the city with their unique styles are to be celebrated so much. One really interesting thing about this cathedral which no one ever mentioned in any reviews or guidebooks is the meridian on the floor in front of the altar. Worth walking past, no need to visit. A moderately interesting exterior, with a mix of architectural styles. Some parts nice others ...not. The interior is big. That's about it though, poorly decorated and in a mediocre state of repair.

Excellent monument of medieval Norman culture and architecture. Although too few of original interiors survived inside. Visitors are allowed to take non commercial photo without flash light. It is worth to buy a ticket and visit tombs of Norman Kings and Emperor Frederick II of Holy Roman Empire, museum and roof of Cathedral.

This cathedral looks so beautiful! The statue and the few palm trees on the square in front of this impressive cathedral truly make a nice atmosphere. The architecture of the cathedral itself shows new parts have been added throughout the centuries, and the slight Arab twist gives it an exotic look. The interior also is worth having a look at. An icon of beautiful Palermo and a true must-see during your stay here.

Marvelous! You can climb the on the tower or to get down to the catacombs. I recommend both. Not very expensive by the way.

Cathedral is good but over hyped and priced. Ticket to tombs is the best example. Climbing up the stairs and the view is another example. Having a guide would have probably added more historical knowledge making it more worth, which we missed out.

The exterior is striking. A must see. It reminded me of a gothic sandcastle. The interior is very large, but in my opinion nowhere near the most impressive Palermo has to offer. There is no fee to enter unless you want to go to the roof. It's one of the busier churches, and tourist groups never treat these places as they would a church or an art gallery, so it's not the most quiet place to admire the art. But there's a lot to do here and a lot to see, some very beautiful paintings await inside and above the altar on the ceiling is an outrageous and unique painting; a portal showing a glimpse of heaven, the best part.

Externally the cathedral is absolutely splendid. The rooftop visit on a sunny day is well worth the climb up the narrow stairs. Some staff, as usual, would benefit from some basic training in customer service

Beautiful cathedral, we visited the as part of a tour in the area. The setting is fantastic and the artwork and decor inside are one of a kind. Beware of the conartist outside who will try and get money out of you. Worth a visit if around the area.

This huge cathedral was erected in 1185 and after many restorations and additions has many different architectural styles: Norman, Moorish, Gothic, Baroque and Neoclassical. Many kings and nobles were buried here. Entry is free of charge.

Grand, classical cathedral. What stood out for me was the fact that there is a heliometer with zodiac on the meridian and it shows the progression of the earth's inclination as the seasons change. Fascinating.
