Excellent family day out. Highlights being feeding the giraffe, stroking a baby tiger and the bird show. Restaurant also good value.
Much better than I anticipated. Bird show worth watching and the interactive experience with the elephant is a must. Lastly, feeding the Giraffes is great fun.
I can't agree with the other reviews about this place. Its small and not well kept. The animals didn't look happy. The areas they were kept in were too small. It was mostly birds and the more interesting animals were too exhausted to move. It took around an hour to get around the whole place. Would have been less of the pavements were bigger and I didn't get stuck behind people.
Its ok. Lot's of birds but not a massive amount of anything else. Also lacks in a few area like hardly any shaded area's which when you have kids it a bit of a pain and also apart from at the bird show there didn't seem to be many staff around with the exception of the shop and cafe, so if you want more information or to ask questions you can't really. Restaurant is decent, decent food and plenty to choose from. Shop is not great, mainly stuffed toys, that being said the prices for both the shop and restaurant are reasonable. I would say don't book the option of getting a transfer to the Zoo, it will be more time than you can kill at this place. You can get the bus there, well 2 but you then have the option to leave when you like. We got there at about 10.35 and we were being picked up at 14:30, if I am being honest we were done by 12 (not including stopping for some lunch). You can have your picture taken with an elephant and a giraffe if you want to pay 50 Euro's..!! (per animal).! All the above being said the staff we did see and speak to were very nice and helpful, I just think this place needs a bit of love and some more to keep kids amused.....maybe a soft play area, rope swings etc etc they certainly have the space free to do so.
It is our second visit to Pafos Zoo and it is still as incredible as it was 2 years ago. My boy was just 8 months then and he loved it that much that we couldn't resist to take him back, now 2 years and 9 months. He loved the zoo so much that he didn't want to leave at all. The Pafos Parrot show is absolutely fantastic. The staff are very knowledgeable and very helpful. There are so many things that you can do at the Zoo. Feeding Giraffe (costs €10),have a photo taken with 2 months old tiger (costs €20). There are two beautiful crocodiles, white lion, tigers, zebra, camel and so much more :-) well worth it to take children there. Parrot show starts at 12:00, 15:00 and 18:00.
Our experience was amazing we got to feed the giraffes, have pictures with owls and pet a tiger cub was a once in a lifetime experience and my family had a great time!
Worst zoo I've ever been to, the animals look sad and depressed. The ostrich looked like he'd been pulling out his own feathers due to stress. The enclosures are far too small for the animals and many are single animals in enclosures despite many of these animals being social animals and requiring herds or groups to thrive. Several of the animals appeared malnourished and diseased. It appears cruel to the animals. Definitely not worth the visit.
Very disappointing. , single animals which are social so shouldn't be on their own. Penguins have uneaten fish in their water. Netting on some birds is so dense it's impossible to get good images. Peacocks, hens and ducks are everywhere so be careful where you walk.
Good zoo with loads of exotic and fascinating animals. We were lucky enough to handle a tiger cub after the bird show which was amazing. I have rated 3 stars as all the animals are living in absolutely terrible conditions and seem very lone and depressed - something that would not be seen in a UK zoo. There are also many who look skinny, particularly the male lion. Furthermore one of the zookeepers was driving his truck like a complete maniac almost knocking down many of us as he sped round a corner on a public footpath. This was reported to the park supervisor who was understanding and apologetic however such behaviour should not be tolerated and I hope action has been taken since.
Love this wee place. Great price for the amount they have and so well laid out. My 3yr old had a fantastic experience feeding the giraffes and the parrot show was fantastic. Can see they are working on areas to make enclosures bigger and make the park better too. The staff really looked like they cared about the animals too. Loved all the birds and rabbits wandering in the park too made it a really fun experience. The play park was superb too. A few more benches wouldn't go a miss though
