As one of Paris’s most famous, celebrated, and visited attractions, the Arc still remains France’s essential symbol of power and unity. The attraction is not only the Arc itself, but there’s a gift shop and a great view from the platform atop of the structure, and the Arc is actually fascinating. The views from the top of the arc are definitely worth the climb (284 steps), as you can see all the 12 avenues of Paris. Of course, the views of the Arc looking up from the ground level are breathtaking as well, like when you drive around the structure, along the roundabout surrounding the arc. The Arc is so intricately designed with different patterns carved into and on top of the surface as well as sculptures that it could take a long time to marvel at how beautiful of a structure it is, especially at night, not only when there’s less people around the area and therefore a better opportunity to admire the structure, but when the lights surrounding the Arc turn on. It’s a wonderful sight to see and a great photo op. Its proximity to the Louvre Museum also makes it a prime site to see when visiting Paris, as it extends from the courtyard of the Louvre Palace to the outskirts of Paris. I absolutely loved seeing the Arc!

The Arc is an impressive site. If you want to be able to access it easier, go at night. During the day (also at night) it is an insanely busy roundabout death trap with no lanes, signals or reasoning. As an American you'll wonder how cars don't just pile up at the base of this thing. That aside it's incredible architecture that's quickly photographed so not an attraction to budget too much time to go see. The main strip leading up to it can also get congested so hop out the car and walk if need be. It's not a difficult one.

Just a Great homage to the People of France and the absolute rule of France's lost Empire. The Sheer Grandeur of the Arc de Triomphe both up close and from a distance shows the Best side of French Architecture. So Many Magnificent Monuments in Paris but Still this 1 of 4 "Gates" to the City of Paris reigns Supreme, not just of the Gates, but of the Landscape of the Great City of Paris : the City of Light. The view from Any point on the Champs-Élysées Is Breathtaking. Definitely a "Must See" and within walking distance to the Eiffel Tower, the Grand & Petite Palaces and even the Louvre. Don't Miss !!!

Arguably better then the Eiffel Tower as it's much less crowded. Entry to the bottom of the Arch is free but if you want to go up it's a charge, which is well priced! Views from the top are stunning as you can see the Eiffel Tower and straight down the Champs Elysees. Also very fun to watch the traffic on from the top, such a sight to see how people don't crash here!

It's massive. Crazy how you drive around it. On top of the main Street where a lot of posh shops are on. And also the standard shops e.g. h&m etc.. good to visit and take some pics. Always find tourists there. Very easy to get to as the underground in France is the best in Europe, so easy to navigate.

Well worth the climb! This was our first stop on the Big Bus tour. Pretty chilly due to snow. Short queue - maybe 10 minutes. Narrow staircase with very few opportunities to stop or step out of the way of others. Toilets at the top should be avoided. Observation deck was wonderful, but, again very chilly. We will go back tomorrow on a clear day. Nice gift shop as well.

Absolutely beautiful, tickets queues were fairly long, but much shorter than the Eiffel tower. We bought instant online tickets outside the ticket office and didn't have to queue. Security checkpoint was rapid, friendly and overall an easy experience. Absolutely beautiful view of all of Paris from the top (including a spectacular view of the arrondissements. An absolute highlight of our holiday.

One of those places to check out in Paris. It has beautiful view of Eiffel Tower, flyer and streets around it. Go in after sunset to check out the glittering lights on Eiffel Tower at the strike of every hour. There are lot of steps to climb up, it doesn’t seem so. It took us at least 20 min to reach Summit in the spiral staircase. There isn’t much on top but the view and few exhibits. You can get tickets at entrance and the line moves pretty quickly.

As an American tourist I wasn't able to appreciate its true definition as a war memorial; however, it's location, structure, and architecture was beyond amazing. It drew my attention because I've seen it countless times on television and movies. This should be the main attraction in Paris. Structure was enormous. Sculptures were so detailed. A must see if you're in Paris. Also, you can pay to take an elevator to the top. Fairly inexpensive.

It's hard to admire it from the ground. If you are right next to it, you can explore small parts only as it's too big to take it all in. When you get further away, there is all this traffic in between. Some people try to take pictures from the middle of the boulevard... Not recommended! But from the top the views are glorious. And you can finally observe the full design of the city. I highly recommend reading about it ahead of time or right there as we did. Also, it's quite entertaining to watch traffic below. The complexity and dynamics of it is mesmerizing.

Great views of Paris and the Eiffel tower. In order to get to the arc, you need to walk through an underground tunnel, as it's surrounded on all sides by a giant roundabout. Easy to walk from the arc to the tower as well (it's perhaps a 15 minute walk). There are lots of stairs arrayed in a close spiral, so be prepared to climb them. Inside is a very small museum, gift shop, and restrooms. Tickets can be bought at the base of the tower before going through security.

It's worth it to research the history of the Arc before you visit. Only then can one appreciate the full experience in this major attraction. I don't know if there is supposed to be a dedicated crossing area to get to the grounds of the Arc itself (it is located in the middle of a high-traffic circle). I had to run while hoping I didn't get tackled by a speeding car in a foreign country. Don't forget the eternal flame on the base of the Arc.

This arch was built to commemorate Napoleon's victory, and has since become one of the most visited attractions in Paris. It is a great monument, and if you have the possibility to take the 270-ish steps to the top of it, don't miss it! A wonderful view of Paris awaits you, which is only surpassed by the one on top of the Eiffel Tower. One important thing to know: the entrance is underground near the metro station and is free or the price is reduced if you are 25 or under from the EU

Beautiful. Is a long 280 stairs climb but worth it. Takes about 15 minutes to climb. There's also a 10 minutes long AV which takes you through the history of the Arc in detail. Tickets are under €20 and we'll worth it. Go in late evening, so that you're on top of the Arc at 10pm, that's when the Eiffel light show happens and looks absolutely stunning. Great views of Paris from the top too.

Just a heads up...you have to pay to get to the top, AND there is NO elevator! You will either need to be super fit to climb the entire staircases to reach the very top, or just take your time and let the others pass through while taking a break. There are benches at the end for everyone to take a breather. However, to get to the very, very top outside, you just need to take another sets of stairs. For those who thinks it's a waste, it really isn't. Once you get on top, it's REALLY worth it. I think it's best if you go there during a clear summer evening, where you can find the BEST sunset movement. Really breathtaking view. Top it off, you get to see the entire city of Paris from up there, the same way you can see Eifel tower.

An alternative view of the city of Paris. All tourists crowd the Eiffel tower and try to get to the top by paying high entry fees. Even though that is an incredible view of Paris, but the view from the rooftop of Arc de Triomphe cannot be ignored. The climb to the top is via a narrow staircase, but they have proper elevator support for people who need it. The staff their is very friendly. I would recommend to buy the tickets before hand if you wish to avoid the small queue at the counter.

Well worth the entrance fee of 12 euros to go up to the top. Check online if it will be open because today it is closed due to the Tour de France. Glad I saw it yesterday. It's a good climb so wear comfortable shoes with grip. The steps can be a bit slippery because they are metal and well worn because of all the people coming through. The view at the top is amazing, and yes you can see the Eiffel Tower from the Arc de Triomphe. Happy climbing!

How can you come to Paris and not see the Arc? You must! It’s a beautiful tribute to those who served and fell in battle. If you’re brave enough to climb us the stairs to the Rio, you’ll enjoy a 360° view of Paris. It’s totally worth it. If you are taking a cab or a ride share, they will drop you off at the tunnel entrance where you can cross the busy street from the underground tunnel. It leads you right up to the ticket boot where you can buy your tickets to the top. Very easy and smooth experience.

The building is beautiful and its history interesting. Beautiful in the external part, nice store, kind workers. However, for the amount they charge (they might do at least 600,000 € /month!) they should (ought to) have better and clean bathrooms, water fountains and some kind of illumination on the stairs up and down. Their income and their jobs depend upon tourists. They should treat them better, offer better services.
