The Musée de l'Armée (French: [myze də laʁme]; "Army Museum") is a national military museum of France located at Les Invalides in the 7th arrondissement of Paris. It is served by Paris Métro stations Invalides, Varenne and La Tour-Maubourg
The Musée de l'Armée was created in 1905 with the merger of the Musée d'Artillerie and the Musée Historique de l'Armée. The museum's seven main spaces and departments contain collections that span the period from antiquity through the 20th century.
If you have enough time in Paris, this is a good choice to visit. Now the Army museum in the former military hospital built by Louis XIV, you can see many impressive exhibits of French military "hardware". It also the house the tombs of great French military hero's including Napoleon and Ferdinand Foch. Highly recommend.

So for the price of the ticket I got into all 5 museums which was a very good deal. To be honest my favorite was Napoleon's tomb as the sheer detail alone was stunning. I bought the audio guide which made Napoleon's tomb go from a 3/5 to a 5/5 easily. The parts you would pass over without second thought are talked about in the audio logs and then you realize how basically EVERY inch of the tomb is symbolic in some way. I would see this again in a heartbeat.

My time here was incredible. Napoleon's tomb, the military museum, the hairs on the back of my neck stand up when I get the chance to walk through such amazing places that have such historical significance. The time in Paris was amazing!

This place fascinated me for the rich historical importance that it resembles. The rooms where the weapons over different eras can be seen was a bit dark (not lit too well). Napoleon's tomb was impressive. The chapel was beautiful. Nice place to visit if you love history

This place was not originally on my things to see in Paris. I must say though if you are looking for one of the best and world class military museums in the world this is the place for you. Perfect for a harder edge type of person that may not be so much into the Paris art and culture scene etc. They have military exhibits all the way back to ancient Greece and Macedonia. There arr more middle age military exhibits than you could ever want and it brings you all the way through the post world war 2 era. If you like military history guns cannons sword etc this should be a must see for you. It is all about the history of the military of France around the world. Also has the tomb of Napoleon.

A beautiful tomb which ones used to be a part of the church. Napoleon and his son are there, together with some important figures in the French history. Keep in mind, that if you want to go there, you will have to buy a ticket for the whole museum of army, so save 2 - 3 hours for the whole complex.

Wonderful museum with a enormous collection of medieval and modern weaponry and armors. Museum is separated in three areas based on period of French military history. The building itself is a piece of art to appreciate. Napoleon's tomb is breathtaking and a must see in Paris. Caveats of the visit: almost all descriptions are in French and the staff knows only very basic English.

This is usually considered a second tier site, and I agree. Visit if you have time after visiting the many first tier sites in Paris. Made easier by relatively easy access from metro or bus. Viewed by many in the world as a conquering tyrant, the French pay homage to Napoleon as a hero and have created this impressive monument to him. The scale and style are grand yet tasteful. Entry fee makes it of questionable worth, but the handy museum pass makes it free.

Well done museum of the French military and of war. English translations are a little rough, but artifacts are amazing. Particularly well done sections on WW's I & II. Napoleon's tomb is beautifully, reverently, and respectfully displayed, creating a surprisingly moving monument, even for the non-French, modern tourist.

Very good museum. It’s huge and has a lot of interesting stuff. I was particularly interested in WW1 and WW2 and it was a very fascinating collection of items. Will definitely return to explore more! Napoleon’s crypt can be found here as well. It’s free for under 26 year olds from the EU.

Invalides is a great site, if for no other reason than to visit Napoleon's tomb. What a tribute. Dark and cool, it's a nice respite, too, from summer heat. Surprisingly, it cost about 12 Euros per adult, but under-18s are free with paying adult. The medieval wing if museum contains suits and armour of European an Asian fighting cultures. We enjoyed watching a military band perform at noon in the inner plaza. Multiple metro stops near this site.

Les Invalides are widely known most as the location of Napoleon's final resting place. Imagine the sort of person who can rise from an artillery officer in the army to become Emperor of the largest empire France has ever had controlling most of Europe. When you enter the tomb, they have constructed it in such a way that you look down on a circular area within the middle of which lies Napoleon. The acoustics of the hall magnify the silence and it feels unnaturally cool inside. The tomb is sculpted from a huge block of red quartz and sits on a green granite base, surrounded by a laurel crown and inscriptions referring to the Emperor's great victories. Highly recommended!

Very nice displays. It’s fascinating to look at Napoléon tomb. Hard to believe you are there to see his resting place and all weaponry from French Revolution. I was reminiscing about great times he lived in and wondering what was this immortal Emperor was able to achieve in his short life of of 51 years. Napoleon was Italian born in Corsica and came to mainland France at age of 9. It’s really fascinating and incredible what he had accomplished. He left timeless legacy. Truly one of a kind.
