The Château de Malmaison (French pronunciation: [ʃɑto d(ə) malmɛzɔ̃]) is a French château situated near the left bank of the Seine, about 15 kilometres (9.3 mi) west of the centre of Paris, in the commune of Rueil-Malmaison.
Formerly the residence of Empress Joséphine de Beauharnais, along with the Tuileries it was the headquarters of the French government from 1800 to 1802, and Napoleon's last residence in France at the end of the Hundred Days in 1815.

Interesting insight into lives of Josephine and Napoleon. Beautifully restored rooms. 30 - 40 minutes is enough to tour the chateau. Takes longer to get there from central Paris than to visit the chateau, but the trip allows one to get a glimpse of suburban Paris.

Very quaint. A bit of a challenge to travel there on public bus, but if you drive then it's worth it. Autumn is perfect to visit.

Historically very important. The interior has amazing pieces, but the exterior could have some restoration. The gardens are not so beautiful as I thought it would be.

The architecture and the items in each room were amazing. Nice grounds, nice staff. Interesting place to visit if you want to know more about Napoleon.

Pretty place, very interesting if you dig Napoleon. But why a frckn lunchbreak...?! They force you out of the place for an hour around lunch without offering an alternative food and/or drinking possibility closeby. Typical.

Great place to visit. Less than an hour from Paris
