The Eiffel Tower ( EYE-fəl; French: tour Eiffel [tuʁ ɛfɛl] (listen)) is a wrought-iron lattice tower on the Champ de Mars in Paris, France. It is named after the engineer Gustave Eiffel, whose company designed and built the tower.
Locally nicknamed "La dame de fer" (French for "Iron Lady"), it was constructed from 1887 to 1889 as the centerpiece of the 1889 World's Fair. Although initially criticised by some of France's leading artists and intellectuals for its design, it has since become a global cultural icon of France and one of the most recognisable structures in the world. The tower received 5,889,000 visitors in 2022, up by 197 percent from 2021, when numbers dropped due to the COVID virus. The Eiffel Tower is the most visited monument with an entrance fee in the world: 6.91 million people ascended it in 2015. It was designated a monument historique in 1964, and was named part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site ("Paris, Banks of the Seine") in 1991.
Magical place. I waited for more than an hour in the line just to get to the ticket counter and then half an hour more to get to the lift. It was worth every penny. When I get to the top, I felt like I'm in the top of the world. The view from there is mind blowing. It's winter so a bit cold. But my God, if you are a thrill seeker or adventurous it's a must. It's one of the best man made landmarks in the world and it rightly is. Never forget it

This iconic landmark is the image that comes to mind whenever the city of Paris is mentioned. Standing at 323 metres tall, beside the River Seine in the Champ de Mars park, the Eiffel Tower is the most iconic symbol of The City of Light. Drawing more than 7 million visitors per year, the tower boasts two restaurants, including the second floor's famous Le Jules Verne, as well as viewing platforms where you can look out over the city. Designed by Gustave Eiffel, the tower was completed in 1889 ahead of the World's Fair. Designed as a temporary structure, it was almost demolished soon after – until experiments showed that radio transmissions could be made from its apex. You'll have to buy entry tickets to make your way up the tower. The cost of these varies depending on the level you want to reach and how you want to get there. If you’re feeling fit, you can walk 300 steps to the first floor, another 400 to the second floor, or take a lift. On the first floor there are informative displays, a cinema that shows films about the tower's history, and various artworks inspired by this famous landmark. On the second floor, there are further displays, souvenir shops, and a vision well, from which you can see all the way down to the ground immediately beneath you. The observation area on the top floor can only be reached by lift. From here, you can enjoy some of the best panoramic views of the city and the wider region from 275 metres in the air. There’s also a Champagne Bar where visitors can enjoy a glass of something sparkling if they fancy. The tower is open every day, except when weather conditions are treacherous; opening hours are extended in the summer. During peak seasons, you may find some floors closed for brief periods owing to congestion. Queues can be long so you’ll need to allow at least three hours for your visit. Even if you choose not to make the climb, you shouldn’t miss the light show that begins at nightfall, in which you can admire 20,000 flashing bulbs illuminating the tower. You can easily reach the Eiffel Tower on public transport including by bus, metro and train. The surrounding area is crowded, so parking spaces are likely to be hard to find.

I loved the Eiffel Tower. It has a great view overlooking all of Paris. I recommend people to buy tickets before going there as me and my family stood in line for over an hour. For the more “active” people, you can also walk up a fair bit of the towers tall staircases. But do not look down as all the people on the ground look like tiny meritorious ants. At night, the tower lights up and becomes a lighthouse. It’s certainly a great place, but has sadly become a tourist trap😤

Here we are at our dream place, Whether you're lucky enough to have visited Paris or have only ever dreamed of going there, chances are you know of the French capital's most beloved landmark: the Eiffel Tower. The Eiffel Tower is open every day of the year. With the exception of certain holidays that either extend or reduce admission times, regular hours of operation from mid-June through early September are 9:00 a.m. to 12:45 a.m., though the last elevator ride to the top departs at 11:00 p.m. For the remainder of the year, the tower is open from 9:30 a.m. until 11:45 p.m., with the last elevator ascending at 10:30 p.m. Times for stair access are similar to those for the elevators during peak season (mid-June through early September) and drastically cut back to 9:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. the rest of the year. Eiffel Tower ticket costs vary wildly. Adults over the age of 25 willing to take the 704 stairs to the second floor pay 7 euros, those aged 12 to 24 years pay 5 euros, and children 4 to 11 pay 3 euros. Admission tickets with elevator access to the second floor cost 11 euros, 8.50 euros, and 4 euros, respectively. Third-floor admission tickets via the elevators cost 17 euros for adults over 25, 14.50 euros for those 12 through 24 years old, and 8 euros for kids ages 4 through 11. Children aged 3 and under enter for free with a paid accompanying adult. Discounted rates are available for disabled persons and their companions, groups of 20 or more, and French job seekers. Stair-access tickets are not sold online. Please click like if you feel this review helpful to you. Regards

Great Monument and one of the must see in Paris. The visa around it is amazing but the best spot to see it and take pictures are either from the Trocadéro square as it is a bit high and gives a nice view. If you want another view that is amazing and with way less people then I would advice you to go to the other side just in front of the military school which is considered behind the tower. Personally I think it gives the best view for photos. Be aware of pickpocketing if you decide to go to the top. These people could be everywhere so be careful. The view from the top is amazing during the day or even at night. The tower has 2 restaurants, one which more expensive than the other. Both restaurants are great and I highly advice them specially Le Jule Verne

Is very impressive to see how big it really is. Beautiful from the ground level, amazing to go up and see the entire city. Is very windy up there so go properly prepare for it. At night is breathtaking the view from the top of the Eiffel. And the tower all light is beautiful. You can make reservations to have dinner at the restaurant located at the tower. The tower has different little shops.

Everyone going to Paris should at least once in their lifetime visit and scale the Eiffel Tower. It is fairly easy to get on metro. If you want to go to the top of the tower, the lifts stop at 10pm, so as to not disappointed get your 17Euro tickets before 9pm. There two security layers one to get in the gated area, then after purchasing the tickets to get to the lift. Visited the Eiffel Tower, although the wait in the line for ticket and lift was almost an hour, but it worth the wait. We took the lift to the top or where the public is allowed and the view was breathe taking. To get into the entrance you will be required to go through security screening, line up for tickets, a secondary screening where any liquid will be confiscated, a line for the lift to the second observation point on the tower. If you are going to the summit/top, proceed to another line where a supervised lift will take to the top. The cost of tickets for adults is Euro 25 and children and young persons from the age of 4 to 24 years is Euro 16. If you make reservations online you have a separate line and less time in the line for the lift up. We enjoyed the view at night.

It's beautiful. It's iconic. Beyond the very nature of the structure being breathtaking, exploring it beyond the ground level becomes just another thing that you pay a lot of euros to stand in a very long line for. The view from the top is wonderful, once you're there, don't get me wrong. I feel the tower is best visited at night, when it is all lit up. As with all the iconic tourist spots in Paris, expect cheap trinket salesman at every turn.

What a brilliant structure. We must have been there at a quiet time because we didn't have a long wait at the lift. My wife doesn't like heights so we only went to the first level. Mind you that was high enough for me. We had a baguette and a coffee each and sat with a beautiful view over Paris. Lift back down was just as easy as going up. If we are ever lucky enough to get back here we will book a table in the restaurant. A wee bit more romantic than a baguette and a coffee.

I've been to see the Eiffel Tower on many, many visits and climbed it or rode to the top a handful of times. If you've never done it - it is a must do in Paris. Don't skip it - but be warned the experience is a bit dreadful now with the increased security. The base is isolated with fencing and solid barriers so you cannot even look inside the park at ground level. It used to be open and you could just walk through and admire all the different views of this majestic icon - but that is only a privilege now after waiting in the enormous queue that exists to pass through a metal detector to gain entry. We were there last month on a beautiful March Sunday mid-morning and the wait was massive - down the block, you couldn't see the end. Such a shame. I understand the need for security and safety, it just saddens me this is the world we live in now and it ruins an experience that is magical and triumphant. Plan accordingly, she is worth it.

If you don't visit Eiffel Tower your France visit will go into vain. It was amazing to be there for a while. I will suggest to go there keeping minimum three hours in hand. And it is better to visit there in the afternoon. You must go to the top of the Eiffel Tower during the day light so that you can enjoy the view in day light and the hours of darkness also. You have to plan for some extra time to purchase the ticket. So....have a nice journey to Eiffel Tower....

It's definitely an experience, though it's a shame with the works going on at the minute. Security is good, on the ground floor it's very industrial looking compared to the last time we went. Not sure if they are keeping permanent surrounding wall up or not. It used to be all open but I can understand the need to be vigilant at the minute. Steps are hard work if you are not active. I found it easier second time round (2 years after last visit). Views astounding, really nice. Toilets on each floor. Gift shops, expensive drinks @5 euros for a bottle of pop, so if you can carry the weight bring your own bottles. Sure I could feel top floor moving, but stands to reason given how narrow it is. Lifts to go up from second to top floor are jam packed tight. We walked up and down, there was quite a nice breeze on the way down which was well needed on a hot day!

What more can you say about the Eiffel Tower that hasn't already been said, it's one of the most iconic symbols of France and probably the most popular tourist attraction in Paris. I've visited the Eiffel Tower in both winter and spring and I'd have to say that I prefer the spring time because it's much more picturesque with all the trees and plants in the surrounding parkland in full bloom. Visiting at night also provides another unique aspect with the Tower all lit up. Be aware that there is usually a very long line to buy tickets to go to the top of the Tower so either get there early or buy your tickets online and skip the queue. There is a lower level that has a restaurant and views over the surrounding area but the viewing platform at the top gives you a better outlook over the city. Overall I enjoyed visiting the Eiffel Tower and will definitely go back next time I'm in Paris even if it's just for a picnic in one of the surrounding parks.

I got to see iconic symbol in France. The best tourist attraction. It was so really amazing seeing the Eiffel Tower that I only imagine seeing in pictures. The best time to go is at night it lights up the sky. Seeing the Eiffel Tower light up was the best thing ever. I got on the elevator all the way to the top. The view was such an awesome experience. It's worth going to see if you ever get a chance. I hope one day I can go back and see it again soon.

Iconic, magical probably the most visited attraction in the world. Views are breathtaking and memorable. At sunset is surreal to watch Paris the most beautiful city in the world. Almost like a movie scene. They paid homage to Gustav Eiffel and Bell by placing their life size figures in the room Mr. Eiffel was using during the construction. Since he thought the tower will be only temporary if he only knew he created a masterpiece for people all around the Globe to visit as probably the most romantic destination. Really remarkable. On a third floor they sell champagne in a glass. It’s so nice to drink a glass of champagne while enjoying incredible views. Romantic and unforgettable like Eiffel Tower and Paris itself.🍾🥂

Wonderful views, of course! It's nice that you can choose between stairs and elevators, but I would not recommend the stairs unless you are in very good shape. There are places within the tower to buy macrons and champagne for fairly reasonable prices if you don't want to sit down at the restaurant. Get there early in the morning limited wait times! (Although sunset and evening times will give lovely views, which would be worth the wait for some)

We were on Europe tour with a group through Star tours. Our tour included night sight seeing of the tower and day tour to the top floor. Our tickets were booked in well advance. It was an amazing experience seeing Eiffel Tower during night and day. We were able to see lighting change at night. For reaching the top floor it took time as it was heavily crowded. There is separate queue for individuals and group visitors. Amazing view of Paris from the top floor. I fell in love with Eiffel Tower.

How do I start with?! A must see monument in the world, the picturesque architecture and surrounding. Plan a visit in the evening as well as in the day time or reach the place in the afternoon then spend the time around here till late evening. Must try: Go on top of the tower, the 360° view of Paris is breathtaking view, very windy on top and it’s open not covered with glass, so weather on top is more chillier than the ground so take your jacket based on the weather in the ground. Evening golden view another scenery which I can never forget. There’s a big lawn in front of the tower, so you can sit and gaze with your loved ones.

A must see if you're in Paris! Just the sheer vastness of it if you stand underneath and look up at it! It's free to look at but there's always queues for the various different tours to go up the tower, and varying prices.. ALL worth every penny! There's public amenities nearby the Eiffel Tower itself, and kiosks to get hot and cold beverages, an a few places to eat (which are usually busy too.) Also, there's often some form of entertainment going on.. be it dancers, mime artists, there was a really good magician one time we were there, just give a few euros or what you can afford. They don't hassle you as security is thankfully very tight around this area. It's also worth visiting the viewing point, especially on a clear night.. Breathtaking!

So this is a mixed review because you have the monument and then you have the actual operations and running of the monument. The monument itself is iconic and definitely worth a visit if you have never seen it before. This was my second visit and enjoyed it more the second time around. I think because the first time I was still a child. The operations however is another story. Poor signage with construction around the monument causing a bit of confusion. Once you get past security you end up in this open area with no real direction on where to go. People are relatively friendly though. We went to the second floor and the view was good. Nice to be able to look around 360 degrees.

A good day out. Don't be scared and climb the 2 first levels by foot. It is only 700 steps and takes 15 minutes. The kids did it without problem and you can get a good view of the feet and structure of the tower. The queues are much smaller and waiting time almost nil especially if you take the ticket office furthest away from the main entrance. You can also take a combined ticket which allows you to grab a lift to the top floor from the second floor. A good day out even with a lot of people visiting this iconic tower. You will have to queue no matter what option you went for.

While a complete tourist trap, my family and I really enjoyed it! The glass elevators allow you to see Paris while gliding up. Every level offers great views and things to do or buy. For those who are capable, walking up is cheaper and not awful. (You can only walk up to the second level and then everyone has to take the elevator to get to the very top. ) Get there early to avoid crazy lines but lines do move quickly. It is SUPER windy at the very top so, ladies, wear pants or shorts under your skirt.

This was a Great experience, the construction was too much. Once you are inside you are trapped in and would have to leave the secure area to enjoy the mall right outside. We had purchased tickets through a tour company, this is a must, the line is a lot shorter than waiting to buy on location. If you don't like tight spots with a lot of people steer clear, the shove as many people as they can into the elevators, the only other option is to walk up the stairs. The view is awesome and the history is Great.

It is SUPER windy at the very top so, ladies, wear pants or shorts under your skirt.
