Lovely place to go and spend some free time. People come here for spending leisure time, you can see kids playing with artificial boats in small fountain at the center. Several courts are also available to play some games. Garden is beautiful and the fact that it is exactly opposite to a nice government building makes it even more beautiful. Lots of open area available to have a home made family lunch. Entry is free.
Beautiful gardens. Lovely place for a Winter's day walk. If you're lucky the fountain will be frozen into full shapes.
Free entry! If you have free time in Paris after your Eiffel tower, tours and etc you can walk around beautiful garden with lots of trees and statues. Kids will enjoy surely. Click the photos in front of Palace inside the garden. You can even play electronic boats in pond present in the garden
Love to take a burrito at chipotle next door and come over here to eat it, perfect! We visited this palace in October, though it was not open to go inside the palace that day, but we took a round around it and the beautiful gardens surrounding this palace. After walking the whole day we just sat in the gardens in a relaxing beach chair, lots of free chairs are there, and had amazing view of palace across the pond in front of it. It was really and amazing view and very relaxing. Also don't forget to take a walk around the garden, its really beautiful as well.
The garden is a fantastic place ideal for those who want to spend a few hours relaxing outdoors. The garden presenting a rich vegetation and many monuments like Medici Fountain. In midwinter seems sad but It's ever a stunning place.
Absolutely gorgeous! Give yourself an hour or so to explore the gardens. From the perfectly cut trees to the wonderful statues and gardens, it was one of my favorite experiences in Paris. If you enjoy sitting down in a calm and outdoor environment, I would recommend. Also a great place for photos.
So amazing. Very calm and relaxed atmosphere. As you stroll through the beautifully landscaped gardens, you will run across a stunning modern art display that sets the stage for a curious juxtaposition of ancient and modern themes. You take a moment to indulge in the scenery and realize how cool it is that you are here - standing on very historic ground. The small little nooks and crannies that are luxuriously hidden add a sweet respite from the very small but abundant crowds. It's like your own little secret garden... If only for a moment. 💗
one of the most interesting places in Paris, according to me. If you don't go there during crowded days it's even better. on Sunday mornings you can see children "sailing" with their little boats in the fountain. There is a bar but it's REALLY expansive, bringing your own food/beverage is highly recommended, just keep the place tidy ;)
Pretty impressive grounds, could walk around for about an hour. If you do the palace of Versailles as well, I think going here isn’t necessary, as it is pretty similar. Seems to be a nice place to take a leisurely stroll on a nice day. I however didn’t spend much time here.
A traditional Paris Park, with lots of statues, ornamental ponds, fountains and leafy avenues. With the senate art museum in the grounds and the RER station at the entrance it is both interesting and accessible. A must see for visitors.
Beautiful landscaped gardens with lawns, flowers & topiary. There are cast iron chairs placed in both the sun & shaded areas to sit on to watch the world go by or read a book. There are various cafes to enjoy a cool drink or a coffee to keep you going. Peace in the middle of a busy city. Well worth a visit when you're in Paris
A lovely park with beautiful gardens, where you can walk, run or sit in the chairs and relax! They have many individual metal chairs, so bring a snack or relax and get some sun rays. The statues and gardens are well maintained and the flowers are gorgeous in the springtime. The gardens are free but the museum if you chose to visit has a fee. There are 2 vendors on site with drinks and snacks. Also, several nice restaurants close by!
Very nice on a sunny day. You can have picnic and enjoy a little bit of green in the middle of Paris. Probably a great place to take kids and let them run around.
The best time to visit this garden is during the summer but of course in winter time still beautiful specially if sunny day.. Such a beautiful art deco of architecture of the building that will impress you.. Get a book and read your book while sitting on the bench or iron chairs while overlooking to the building.. it's so wonderful!!
By far one of the cutest places in Paris. I loved everything about the Luxembourg gardens, the liveliness, the many benches to sit and relax, random art exhibitions here and there. I would definitely recommend planning to spend some time here just to relax and send some time away from the city while still in the city. There are many good bus connections right outside the park to easily jump right back into sightseeing.
Beautiful gardens, wonderful place for a picnic. The playground area was very nice. Love that the floor is not sand. It is a soft tiled surface. The older kids play area looked really nice although my son is 2 and was not able to use it. I was tempted to try some myself :)
These gardens were quite beautiful and centrally located in Paris. Lots of families seem to spend their time in the park, walking, resting, playing, etc. It's quite large and a good place to pack up your backpack with a couple of baguettes/meats/cheeses and spend a couple of hours or more. Very clean and well-maintained. We walked through here several times during our week in Paris. Worth a visit for sure.
We took our family here including two grandchildren. It's a beautiful garden with a lake. Around the lake are plenty of chairs which can be moved into groups together if you wish. There are toy boats for hire which the children loved. The price was very reasonable, 4 euros for half an hour and so much fun. There are fast food huts and it's an easy walk through. The only down side for me was the keep off the grass mentality which was a shame. Great morning spent there though.
These gardens are so cool. I thought the central fountain was really neat. There is a small rental place next to the fountain where you can rent a miniature toy sailboat to put in the fountain. The park has a gentle breeze and the sail boats will glide back and forth on the water's surface. A great activity to keep kids entertained! There are plenty of places to sit down and relax in the sun or the shade. The small cafe was great for an afternoon coffee and a crepe. I wish I had brought a book to read, as I would have stayed there the rest of the afternoon.
Great sprawling gardens with multiple things to do all season long. Public bathrooms are free here and there is a large playground for kids but is costs 2€ per person. During the warmer months you will see vendors selling refreshments and ice cream. There is even a miniature replica statue of Liberty as you enter through the west. Plenty of benches to rest.
An awesome park! This is free and open to the public, with plenty of shade, benches, and picnic tables. This is a perfect spot for walking, running, sight-seeing, or just people watching. Easy access from the Metro and totally worth it for an afternoon out. Bring a book, or a blanket, or just yourself and enjoy this Queen's garden! The statues of queens (and the patron saint of Paris, St. Genevieve) are cool to see, too!
Little Piece of Heaven! There are many beautiful green spaces/gardens in Paris, but Luxembourg Gardens was my favorite. The vibration of the place is amazing, specially if it is a sunny day.. There are amazing statues scattered around and gigantic fountains. :)) There was a gorgeous little shaded duck pond and stunning manicured hedges everywhere. A lovely place to visit!
A great place to get some quiet time. People tend to gather around the shallow pools where there are plenty of chairs. You'll often see kids playing with toy boats on the water. There are wooded areas that offer shade, permanent table tennis tables in one area, gazebos that sometimes feature jazz bands. One thing to note is that the park closes fairly early in the evenings. Park officials and their whistles make it pretty clear when it's time to leave.
Wonderful outing but be sure to carry/take medicine if you suffer from allergies. I forgot mine and suffered since it is a garden after all. Grounds were very well kept. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes as lots of walking is involved to explore the whole garden. They also have little sail boats you can rent to float in the fountain in front of the Palace.
Wonderful, beautiful, huge tiered park, nicely sectioned and divided out in a classical way, with a big fountain/pond in the centre. Surrounded on the edge of the oval area walkways and the square tree line are statues of famous people, and the entrance is guarded by 2 lions, with the Palace in the background. This area is free and available for the public, with green manicured lawns, children's playground and tennis courts. Great space to sit and absorb the beauty of the area, and relax and stay in the cool of the shade that the trees offer, fantastic park!!!
Beautiful gardens with open paths to walk through and have a break from busy Paris. The walk from the centre is less than an hour round trip and so worth going. Buy a lunch in a supermarket or prepare to spend alot in the park cafe. Really nice place to visit on a warm summer's day.
