The Moulin de la Galette is a windmill and associated businesses situated near the top of the district of Montmartre in Paris. Since the 17th century the windmill has been known for more than just its milling capabilities. Nineteenth-century owners and millers, the Debray family, made a brown bread, galette, which became popular and thus the name of the windmill and its businesses, which have included a famous guinguette and restaurant. In the 19th century, Le Moulin de la Galette represented diversion for Parisians seeking entertainment, a glass of wine and bread made from flour ground by the windmill. Artists, such as Renoir, van Gogh, and Pissarro have immortalized Le Moulin de la Galette; likely the most notable was Renoir's festive painting, Bal du moulin de la Galette.
The windmill Moulin de la Galette, also known as Blute-fin, was built in 1622. The name Blute-fin comes from the French verb bluter which means sifting flour for the separation from bran.

Pretty decent music venue, lots of intermediate floors, stairs, stage is high so it's easier to see what's going... But (of course there's a but) the beer sucks (don't expect anything else but Heineken) and tastes as if it were watered down... Beware of opening times, they start shows on time especially when there is a party scheduled after the gigs !!!

Great party place in the heart of Paris. The music and crowd is awesome. The party actually starts around 1am and there is no place to step on the dance floor till 6am.

Awesome place. Too much queue for the cloak room

Unwelcoming staff & crappy service. Average age = 18 y.o max. Music = not too bad. We spent 15 minutes there and left.. Not going back anytime soon...

Correct nightclub with big dance floor. People are mostly young students. The room to smoke is too small, without ventilation. The speakers are correct but the mid and high frequencies are not enough loud than the basses. Mostly good line-ups swinging from house to techno DJ sets, or special showcases (live performances or live band).

Amazing show, I will recommend this to anyone coming to Paris. On my honeymoon, my wife and I saw the show. We bought the champagne with show tickets. The show was absolutely amazing and they served us an entire champagne bottle.

Crowd management a disaster! Security personnel has no manners. You would think that after so many shows they should know how to manage crowds???
