Very enjoyable day in the museum. Wide variety of art on display, many interesting pieces and discussion points. However after 3 hours, it was just too much. Feel like we missed a lot, yet we saw the most interesting exbibits. Make sure you book tickets ahead of time. It was - 5C outside and the queue is only outside the building! Thankfully, you can take care of that on the spot with your phone :) entrance C was much faster!

House to the wonderful impressionists and other artwork, this museum is an amazing place. An ancient train station, it was restored and transformed to become an iconic place. Plan to arrive early on your visit day, so you'll avoid the queues and won't find lots of staff members in a bad mood in the closing hours. Walk around, take your time, enjoy everything and then go out to stroll along the beautiful Seine.

This is my absolute favorite museum in Paris. It's situated in a beautiful old train station, so it has an easy to navigate layout. It has so many famous and simply breathtaking works of art! The service I got was great and the cost of it was a steal! I definitely recommend this museum! Make sure you get there early though, as the wait line can be lengthy!

It's the Louvre, for heaven's sake, possibly the most famous museum in the world and it does not disappoint. Going as early as possible is a good idea as it gets seriously crowded, and once the tour groups get going, you can find it difficult to move around. The layout is a little quirky and takes some mastering, so make sure to get a map. If you are a serious art fan, or scholar, you could spend several days in the Louvre, it is massive.

NOTE the following ISSUES first: your city/museum pass you paid a lot of money for probably won't help you bypass the incredibly long, slow-moving line to get in, so you are going to have to wait (sometimes over an hour) to get inside. EXPECT the foregoing and then read why this is a 5-star experience and why you MUST go if you are in Paris. Pound-for-pound this is the greatest museum in the world. PARTICULARLY if you enjoy impressionists. Start at the top and work your way down; give yourself a full day for this (relatively) small museum that is absolutely packed with incredible art, furniture, and fixtures. It is located in a converted train station and the building itself is marvelous. I would make this a priority to any trip to Paris.

This is the excellent museum on par with Louvre. Ordered tickets online hoping to save time and avoid lines. Line for folks with tickets on Wednesday on rainy day off season was huge going around several blocks. Came back later around 4pm on the same day and got inside in 30 minutes. Unfortunately museum was closing at 6pm and 90 minutes was quick preview. Museum is set from old railroad station. It's collection of Degas, Monet, Janet, Power to and other famous painters require easy 3-4 hours. This museum is a must to visit while in Paris.

Another great museum! I will take away a star based on service (I'll explain). So we got the Museum pass and we went here. There was a bit of a line for even the Fast track. The guy who was allowing people from both the Fast track line and museum member's line was not that great. He would let people go in small batches, which was fine, but then he disappeared for 15 minutes and everyone was getting upset. ------------------------------------------------ Besides that, this place was really cool. We went to go see the Van Gogh, Renoir, Monet, and Rodin. If you were tired, there was places to sit and relax on all floors. The exhibits on the top floors (I believe visiting exhibits) were very crowded and at times hard to take pictures. Very cool Museum though!

A must visit in Paris, might be better than the Louvre. Queue wasn't too long, all staff very friendly and helpful and the layout of the museum is very good. The building itself is amazing and the art of course is some of the most famous in the world. Def worth the price of entry and I look forward to returning next time I'm in Paris.

Wonderful museum with a great selection of beautiful impressionist art! If you like van Gogh, Monet, Manet, etc. You would love this museum!! Reasonable entry price too! They have a cafe here as well and the service was prompt and pleasant and the food was tasty and presented beautifully. All in all the museum is a full day experience that is great for kids as well as adults!

Third time to visit this magnificent art venue and always come away inspired and appreciative of the works on display. Everything is displayed in an accessible manner and the groupings are well organized. Enjoyed lunch in the restaurant. One can easily spend an entire afternoon here. A top attraction for anyone interested in art.

This museum is a real gem. The building is just stunningly beautiful and worth a visit on its own...and yet it is also filled with some magnificent works of art. The vibe is relaxed and a million miles away from the crusty art museums of old. We went with teenage daughters (who like art and crafts) and everyone loved it.

Loved this museum! Perfectly sized. I felt overwhelmed in the Louvre and this museum was a great size that allowed you to take your time and see pretty much everything without walking miles and being there for hours and hours. Included in the Paris Museum Pass, which is a great deal if you plan on hitting some museums while in Paris (you should!)

The problem with reviewing museums in Paris is that they are all extraordinary. As a huge Degas fan I was in my element. The beauty on display is mind blowing. It is a life affirming experience. From the spectacular architecture to the smallest sketch, joy can be found. Except the cafe is freakishly expensive, and why is there so few toilets?!?

When you think of Art in Paris you naturally think of certain other world famous galleries, maybe one that’s notable for its pyramid features (or I did anyway) and not the Musée d’Orsay but having visited recently I now know what a mistake that is! Out of all the museums and galleries I’ve been to, the Musée d’Orsay might now be my favourite! Not only is the gallery beautifully presented and well laid out but it’s also a manageable size. Easy on the step count and not such an art fatigue risk as some others that I’ve struggled with. The current impressionist collection is fantastic if you’re into that kind of thing and if visited off peak-time there’s plenty of room to sit back and actually take it in. Overall a great and varied collection on a digestible scale. Highly recommended.

Stunning building with amazing items on display. The museum is well laid out, bright and airy and the exhibits are not too crowded or packed into the space. The furniture collection is well worth a look. The cafe and restaurant are expensive, so it’s best to get lunch in the surrounding streets before you visit. A much more pleasant museum experience than the other museum across the river, with the pyramid, which can be like an overwhelming sea of people.

Beautiful, well laid out museum. I recommend the audio guided tour. You learn much about the art, the artists, and the times they lived in. We went on a Sunday and spent a little over 3 hours there. This was enough time for us to see all the paintings we wanted to view. We purchased our tickets online (highly recommend doing this) and arrived a few minutes before the museum opened at 9:30 am. The line was short and the museum didn't start to feel crowded until around the time we were ready to leave.

A wonderful museum to visit in Paris, especially if you are into sculpture and architecture. The top floor offers an amazing view inside the charming classical French building as well as outdoor looking over to Louvre. You will also find 2 iconic giant clocks, one is right at the canteen with great food (and Parisian price).

An amazing museum, even for people who are not that interested in art. The entrance hall is vast and wonderful! This is considered as one of the most revered museums in the world, and I would agree with that association and the hype. I did not visit the Louvre to avoid the crowds and I am glad I made that decision. The lines to get in are systematically organized and took me 20mins to get in (time of visit: Friday (June 22, 2018) at 3pm). I would recommend getting a hat/umbrella on a sunny day, as certain areas of the queue are not under any shades.

A beautiful space with a stunning collection. This museum is not too big and not too small. I thoroughly enjoyed my experience there two years ago. Earlier this month we went on the first Sunday of the month when there is free admission. It was far too crowded at that time and was not nearly as enjoyable. It's important to be able to see the art and to be able to feel the vibe of the collection in the space. I highly recommend this museum on any other day but the free entry day.

One of the best museums to go to. It's right across the louvre and you can see van gogh here. It has a nice clock on top of the building to get a nice silhouette picture. They also have souvenirs here. Just make sure you set aside plenty of time to enjoy the paintings and sculptures. Best to go when it opens as it gets busy during the day.

This, like The Louvre, is a world class museum. The building started its life as a railroad station during the heyday of passenger rail travel. The redesign, turned the building into a beautiful venue, inside and out, for paintings and sculpture. The reason I didn't give it five stars is that it's very difficult to find a toilet, and for the disabled, it is a disaster. The only two toilets that I could find were in areas accessible only by a staircase. The impressionist art was outstanding.
William H Spinks | יולי 12, 2018
Stunning renewal of this turn of the century railway station, built originally for a 1900 Exposition. The museum is, itself, a work of art. I am assured it contains a collection of important works by noted impressionist artists, and sculptors of this and other periods, but I am no judge of that. Instead it is the detail of the structure of the building that is so impressive to me. And, as others have noted, this museum is far less crowded than the Louvre. One reviewer that accessible toilets are not evident. Not true, they are clearly identified on the plan.
David Kump | אוג׳ 7, 2018
We had seen the Louvre and thought about skipping this. However we had some spare time and dropped in for 1-2 hours. I'm really glad we did. The impressionist paintings were very different than other museums, and it was less crowded and more relaxing. I thoroughly enjoyed this and would go back when I have more time. The paintings were absolutely beautiful.

Honestly one of the best museums I've ever been to. To start out, the building itself is a work of art. It was originally built in 1900 for the World's Fair and has a massive arched ceiling and grand clocks hanging on each side. The art is exceptional, with a focus on French art with many famous artists such as Monet and Van Gogh. There are significantly less tourists here compared to the Louvre, obviously. This allows a better mood to truly experience the art. If you visit two art galleries in Paris, it should be this and the Louvre.
