Музей Ниссим-де-Камондо (фр. Musée Nissim-de-Camondo) является частью организации Les Arts Décoratifs и содержит богатую коллекцию предметов XVIII века. Находится в 8-м округе Парижа, рядом с парком Монсо.
I felt like I was snooping in a Downton Abbey like home in a rich Parisian neighbourhood. Well, turns out I was. The private residence was given to France by its owner. The guy was a collector and we all get to enjoy his passion for antique furniture and 18 century paintings. The price of admission even includes an informative audio guide. Fantastic way to spend an hour on a rainy December day in the City of Lights.
18thcentury mansion, larger than I imagined when I first stepped in. So it turned out to be quite good. They sell a package of this museum and another musée Rivoli for 13€ including audio guide but you have to use it in 4 days. I'm not a fan for houses and decoration history it seems, but would be good to see if you are looking for something easy, nice and not too big. Including audio guide is nice but I was hoping the audio guide to be newer.
One of the best preserved late 19th century private residences in Paris. A mind boggling gift of cultural patrimony and truly unique. Musée Nissim de Camondo is worth visiting more than once. The audio tour takes you through some of the best highlights of the collection. The personal tragedy that happened with him this home is a tale unto itself. Definitely a museum worth exploring.
It is a museum you can go through in a few hours. It was sad to hear the story about the elder Camondo. Beautiful decorated room. The rooms are not huge so it might get crowded around big groups. Be sure to pick up a audio device which are free when you but your ticket. If you do not want to listen to every audio sequence be sure to at least listen to the main ones. Not sure if was just because the weekend, but the attached restaurant needs a reservation.
Amazing collection of 18th century decorative arts in a beautiful house, highly recommended. The audio guide was brilliant, telling the story of the family as well as that of the house and covering the details of the collection. Almost all areas of the house are open to the public. My only complaint is that some of the mechanical pieces were left closed, e.g. the roll top desk with writing surface linked to the cover, or the jewellery box with it's various hidden compartments. These are described in the audio guide, but you can't see them open. Despite that, it was an excellent experience, a highlight of my trip to Europe.
I was pleasantly surprised by my visit in this museum, great for a cold winter day. The electronic guide is well done, the architecture, the furniture and the story of the place is very interesting
This museum is definitely must see in Paris. Very nice and authentic Villa. Museum located not in the touristic center and that's why has not so many visitors, which is a very big plus! This house has amazing collection of art objects. Interior kept as it was in the beginning of the century.
Just a fabulous collection of furniture and objects of art! It's amazing to view all of this in the home were it was actually part. Every time I go thru', I notice something new. Don't miss it!
This type of museum are always on my list whenever I travel! Very interesting residence with lots to see. It was also interesting to learn about the history with the audioguides
