The Palais de Tokyo (Tokyo Palace) is a building dedicated to modern and contemporary art, located at 13 avenue du Président-Wilson, facing the Trocadéro, in the 16th arrondissement of Paris. The eastern wing of the building belongs to the City of Paris, and hosts the Musée d'Art Moderne de Paris (Paris' Museum of Modern Art). The western wing belongs to the French state and since 2002, has hosted the Palais de Tokyo / Site de création contemporaine, the largest museum in France dedicated to temporary exhibitions of contemporary art.
The building is separated from the River Seine by the Avenue de New-York, which was formerly named Quai Debilly and later Avenue de Tokio (from 1918 to 1945). The name Palais de Tokyo derives from the name of this street.

Super rad, interactive art displays. It's constantly changing. Each exhibit is open for 3 months and then they close for 1 month to change it, 3 times a year. Make sure it is open when you plan to go! Definitely worth the money and fun for anyone, you don't have to love art to enjoy it. Lot's to experience there too!

I guess it depends on the exhibitions but it has been fantastic any time we have visited. Lots of space for the massive installations on show. Late opening allows visits in the cool of the evening/night.

Favorite modern and Contemporary art museum in Paris! They get into some weird stuff, but that’s half the fun. Great shop and fast WiFi.

during the last ten years i have been in this 3 times. it never fails to satisfy with updated exhibitions and very interesting curatorial work. There is always something creative happening around here, the multifunctional spaces adapt to the most extreme uses, in may 2018 there was a florist exhibition next to chic and elegant works by contemporary artists and it just seemed very natural. the view to the city of paris is marvelous too

One of the best contemporary art museums I've ever visited. Kids skateboarding in the front courtyard, really cool interactive exhibits, and a generally relaxed atmosphere.
