Beautifully done garden and museum in a perfect setting for Rodin's work. Exhibited work spans Rodin's career and includes even a few things he loved but didn't create ( a Monet, a Van Gogh... What a bonus!). The cafe in the garden is worth a stop, quiet and simple but with beautiful pastries, sandwiches, hot chocolate, etc. The "hidden doorway" to the restrooms inside is another fun surprise. By all means spend the extra couple of Euro for the audio tour. The commentary adds depth and insight to what you are seeing and greatly enhances your visit.

Way to small for such a prolific artist who produced thousands of pieces of artwork. His own house being converted on to a museum was clever at the time, but surely it's time for another way to show the variety and quantity of artwork. That said...I love to return to this 'must see artist'.

Highly recommend this Parisian treasure trove of glorious sculptural wonders. Gasp at The Gates of Hell...detail is astounding. The smaller works inside are just as spectacular. Then of course, there"s The Thinker. Beauty and evocation...superb!

Went there with about 10 minutes left before closing just wanting to go see the Thinker statue. They let us in for only two euro just to see the statue and hit up the gift shop. Very nice and accommodating. Judging by what I saw, it seems like the right kind of museum for those who like sculptures - less historical stuff like the Egypt stuff at the Louvre, but great art none the less. Next time in Paris, I'll spend more time going through.

Beautiful works of Rodin with plenty background stories. Unfortunately not everything was translated in English and there were no English maps or information booklets. Stunning little garden to go along with the museum.

I really enjoyed my visit to the Rodin museum. It's of a manageable size, but you still feel like you get a good look into Rodin's full career. Although clearly some of his work has been picked up by larger museums, the collection is excellent: Balzac's dressing-gown was my favourite!

horrible treatment of the staff, worst museum experience I've had. The artwork and layout of the museum was amazing and I would've loved to appreciate it but I couldn't due to the angry and miserable treatment I received from the employees. They were not kind to my group as we walked together with those from my study abroad but were clearly separate and would not let us enter without buying more passes as we were considered a "group". They said that due to the size of the museum they could not handle us unless we bought passes so apparently the museum grows in size when they take more money from visitors. They were exceptionally rude towards us and wouldn't even let us enter at separate times as the others toured the gardens. They just would not let us enter at all despite the fact we bought tickets. Would not recommend due to the staff treatment, I was attempting to learn for this study abroad and look at and study the famous sculptures of Rodin but I could not. Can not believe that I spent money to be yelled at.

Highly recommend if you want to avoid the tourist crowds. The garden in itself is worth it though probably better in the warmer/greener season (we went in March). The house is beautiful.

Absolutely amazing collection of works by Rodin and contemporaries. Impressively expressive works, all the masterpieces, in addition to various studies and stages, exquisitely exposed in the spaces the master inhabited in his final years. The visitor is guided through the rooms roughly by period, and thereby can see the development of the artist through years and periods. The pieces by contemporary artists, painters as well as other sculptors, elegantly support the narrative of the exposition, and deepen the insight into one of the most prolific artistic eras. The garden is absolutely lovely, and the setting and surroundings breathe an almost meditative peace in hectic Paris, which gives all the more room for the inner turmoil of the works on display. Those who leave do not look at the world the same way as when they entered. Highly recommended, and very reasonably priced.

I enjoyed the sculptures, I mean it's Rodin so obviously, but this is probably the worst museum in Paris. Half of the garden was closed off during our visit, some sculptures were even absent, I presume there was a private event happening at night because a stage was being built. We were also only able to walk around for about 30-40 minutes before being rudely kicked out because they were closed, having never been informed they were apparently closing soon. Still charged full price for the ticket. If you're a huge fan of Rodin it may be worth a visit but if not, there are plenty of better museums in Paris to choose from.

A smaller, yet still memorable museum in Paris. If you dont take your time, you could walk through the inside and gardens in under an hour, so take your time! I consider a must-see if you're into sculptures. The garden is a neat spot to relax.

We enjoyed the garden a lot more than the indoors museum. The day was sunny and warm, which made our visit even better. It was a rather meditative experience as the sculptures provide plenty of food for thought.

Perfect museum experience if you love sculpture and sketches. It's good year-round, but summers might be a little nicer for the pathways outside. Interior is perfectly lit, and you really feel like you could see the entire space in a slow-paced, thoughtful few hours.

the best-known of Rodin's works, The Thinker (1880–1882), sits outside the museum in the entry courtyard. Visitors once entered through a cast of The Gates of Hell, located at the main entrance to the museum, which is no longer used. This massive 5.5-m-tall bronze doorway was originally created for the Museum of Decorative Arts (which was to have been located in Paris but never came into existence). Rodin sculpted more than 100 figures for these doors from 1880 until his death in 1917. This casting is one of the three originals; several others have been made since. Several of his most famous works, including The Thinker, are actually studies for these doors which were later expanded into separate works. The museum's several rooms house many more of the artist's works, including The Kiss (1886), Eternal Springtime (1884), The Age of Bronze (1875–76), and The Burghers of Calais, a monument commissioned by the City of Calais in 1884.

August Rodin was a leading sculptor whose works are nothing short of remarkable!! The confines of any Museum would not be adequate for this very hard working artist-- so the collection [of sculptures, sketches and paintings PLUS his collection of works by other artists is split between his home outside Paris and his former workshop conveniently located in the Hotel Biron [near the Varennes Metro station]. His works can be found in the old hotel, its surrounding gardens [which add ever so much to those works] as well as the Metro station!! The Museum is also less costly than many others. I hope that this review has been helpful, and you enjoy his works as much as did I!!

Amazing collection of sculptures in a beautiful house/museum. The roses were in full bloom and garden was lush green - with a few rabbits hopping around! Such a treat to see The Thinker in person. Waited only 5-10 min to buy tickets.

Peaceful, beautiful, quiet, secluded. Nowhere near as much art as The Louvre, but going through this museum is like thumbing through Rodin's sketchbook and masterpieces. Go early and be among the first there to discover Rodin personally. I highly recommend it-- you will LOVE it!!

Beautiful museum and park in the middle of the city. The gardens are really peaceful and a wonderful place to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Perfect place to relax. The house contains an amazing collection, as does the outside garden. When I went, I was on crutches for a stress fracture and they supplied me with a wheelchair, which was very helpful. It didn't work very well outside because of the gravel paths, but inside the house it was great. Highly recommend.

My favorite museum in Paris! Not overwhelming like the more famous museums. If you're not that interested in Rodin (and are willing to miss The Kiss), then just pay for entry into the sculpture garden. It has The Thinker, The Gates of Hell, The Burghers of Calais, and many other wonderful sculptures in a lovely setting. Spend an afternoon picnicking on the lawn. Just lovely!

This is great museum dedicated to life work of one of the greatest sculptors ever. Inside you will find some of Rodin's most well known works and also an insight into the life of this great artist. The admission charge of 10 Euro is reasonable and well worth it, if even just to see "The Thinker" which stands proudly over the garden.

It's a small museum compared to the Louvre or Orsay. However, it has enough exhibitions for anyone to spend a couple hours there. The audio guide is also easy to use. If you ever visit here, you should probably should get one. You should definitely visit here if you are under 18. Like many museums in Paris, you don't have to pay to get into the museum, but remember to bring your Passport or Student ID to show your age.

What an amazing place with a masters work everywhere you look. The gardens are great and you can bring in food to have lunch there. It's under renovations which should be done soon. There is an extensive set of works and even pieces from Rodin's personal collection. Can't recommend it enough. The gift shop also has good prices and a good selection of items.

Enjoyed strolling through the garden to see many sculptures. Our 3 year old really enjoyed himself. There are bathrooms and a little cafe, although we didn't go to it. The museum is also interesting but I wouldn't say it was a must see. It was interesting to see all the practice sculptures but the gem is the garden. Also, bonus that it wasn't crowded. Oh, and I think you can get tickets online although we did not.

A great museum! Entrance is fair and you get to see a great exhibition. Divided over 2 houses it is really a Rodin exhibition. Many many sculptures in many forms which shown the work of this great artist! Also the garden is filled with sculptures, beside the fact that on a sunny day the garden it self is beautiful!! Amazing to visit and a real recommendation!!
