Pattaya (Thai: พัทยา, RTGS: Phatthaya, pronounced [pʰát.tʰā.jāː] (listen)) is a city in Thailand. It is on the east coast of the Gulf of Thailand, about 100 kilometres (62 mi) southeast of Bangkok, within, but not part of, Bang Lamung District in the province of Chonburi. Pattaya City (Thai: เมืองพัทยา, RTGS: Mueang Phatthaya) is a self-governing municipal area which covers Tambon's Nong Prue and Na Klua and parts of Huai Yai and Nong Pla Lai. The city is in the industrial Eastern Seaboard zone, along with Si Racha, Laem Chabang, and Chonburi. Pattaya is at the center of the Pattaya-Chonburi Metropolitan Area—a conurbation in Chonburi Province—with a population of roughly 1,000,000.
The name Pattaya evolved from the march of Phraya Tak (later King Taksin) and his army from Ayutthaya to Chanthaburi, which took place before the fall of the former capital to Burmese invaders in 1767. When his army arrived in the vicinity of what is now Pattaya, Phraya Tak encountered the troops of a local leader named Nai Klom, who tried to intercept him. When the two met face to face, Nai Klom was impressed by Phraya Tak's dignified manner and his army's strict discipline. He surrendered without a fight and joined his forces. The place the armies confronted each other was thereafter known as "Thap Phraya", which means the "army of the Phraya". This later became Pattaya, the name of the wind blowing from the south-west to the north-east at the beginning of the rainy season.
Huge mall, very expensive. Booths you can haggle. Store fronts are retail price. Good for children. Movie theaters inside, with bowling alley, arcade and lazer tag. A lot of food options. Most are good other than the fast kind. Have fun!!!

Biggest beach front mall in the world, this place is ideally located in the middle of beach road. There is a positive mood in this mall, with so many shops and food, you an spend the whole day there. Bowling and Theaters are at the top floor with countless of games and attractions. The food court at the underground is also worth trying.

Lunch at the Edge buffet. View is great, food okay. You're definitely partying for the view and peaceful atmosphere. Many much more adorable food options, but a nice air-conditioned escape, with daily lunch themes and a view. Go on a weekday for best price and best food.

Excellent location. Limited brands but fantastic range of food outlets. Very well laid out. Easy to go from floor to floor. Excellent ambiance. There was a celebratory feel with the Chinese New Year decor coming up.

Great place to shop or eat. The supermarket is good, a little on the expensive side but has lots of imported goodies. Aircon is crisp, cinema is cheap & the beach is accessible on the beach road side. Well worth a visit. Its huge!

Nowadays it seems that all shopping centers feel and look the same. They just don’t have any new ideas of how to compete against the ever growing online markets. This center has the usual suspects of brand shops, entertainment including a cinema on too floor, many food courts catering for all types of tastes and some health&beauty parlors and what not. Nothing breathtaking or new. I wonder if any of the brand shops could survive on their own, without financial support of the brand marketing. Probably not. Parking is available. It seems most people are just striving through the complex, enjoying the cool down of the air conditioning.

Central Festival is a new, modern Central in the heart of Pattaya. It is, of course, upscale, but there are numerous bargains even in central. The food court is particularly good. It seems more like a good à la carte restaurant than a traditional food court. It is very accessible. Free covered parking with reasonable security. A good place to shop and spend time, this.

Recommend to do a quick shopping. Many small booths are inside the mall. If you like Chinese or Japanese cuisine then it’s good to try them. There is a Starbucks which is located outside the mall, good to sit and watch the beach and tourists. This mall is also connected to Hilton hotel, if you don’t want to explore small shops around the mall then this place is for you. Good luck

The best location for shopping in Pattaya - be it anything. You are better off spending your day time here before the nightlife begins. There are shops, restaurants, cafes, movies etc. Located on the beach road it is easy to reach and offers fantastic views of the ocean. You can get on one of the many Baht buses afterwards which will take you to every other street in Pattaya.

I stayed next door and I did some some shopping there. Good to eat or just get out from the heat of the day. Plenty of choices. I think I ate at least one of my meals there almost every day. Not sure how it's compare to the other major shopping centres in the aera but I was happy with it as it was so close and handy. They have markets front and back...food and other items. On the weekend there was some food festival at the front and on second Rd entry the regular evening markets. I was also there in December and they had a great Christmas tree on display. Great Christmas atmosphere but I didn't stay for Christmas. Maybe next year.

Outrageously superb variety of good food from $2 per person (food court basement ) to over $50. It's quite a new mall and it's pretty. Cineplex and bowling among other services. Did not shop as Thailand malls are not necessarily the cheapest in Asia. But the mall is big, and does have a large variety of global brand stores.

Biggest & best shopping centre on Pattaya beach road. From high end to general and also discount shopping. A great food court on the lower level. I most liked the variety of food options on the upper levels. If Japanese food is your thing then there are plenty of choices.

Moderate sized shopping mall with a bit higher end products for sale. Most shops are western style ones and so are the prices. Place is nice and clean and can have a lot of fun browsing around. Good place to kill some time if you are bored near beach or just waiting for the night clubs to open.
Tharindu DissanayakeJun 8, 2018
Nice view over the beach at beach road. Very good and easy parking ... great variety of shops. Many different food corners. Cool inside if you want to fresh up on hot sunny days or when raining.
Marcus JansenJun 4, 2018
Good Western style mall, most of the shops you'd expect along with cinema, bowling and restaurants. Prices are also Western, in fact often more than you would pay in your home country. However, if you want to forget you're in Thailand for a few hours it's a great place to go.

That mall should be closed. C.F. Pattaya hasn't respect for their customers. Sitting area and furniture has been there very long time, table's and chairs very old and not so clean. Opening 11 am why so late? Many visitors waiting out of doors until they open the door. But be happy Pattaya get a huge shopping mall soon..
Moratt YenidemirJul 14, 2018
This is surely the best shopping center in Pattaya. There are many shops and lots of Western brands. On the 6th floor you can even find a movie theater (with English films) and bowling alleys, both of which are reasonably priced. Unfortunately, opening times are somewhat disappointing (11AM-11PM)

Central Festival is simply one of the best shopping mall I've ever visited! It is situated in Pattaya, Thailand. The location is very attractive! The shopping mall has a unique fragrance! It's an enormous shopping mall and a place where we can find all of our needs and wants. Not only for shopping, but it's also an area where we can delight our mind to it's fullest! The food park is simply tantastic! It's the place where the visitors can have their lunch and dinner heavenly. We have so many wants such as clothes, shoes, cosmetics, etc. And spending our times shopping in Central Festival is a pleasure! We can have most of our wants theere very easily! And how can I forget about the movue theatre upstairs? It's the best part of this market where the visitors can spend their precious time watching thrilling movies!

The best part of this mall is its location - just on the other side of the beachroad in Pattaya. If you are hot on the beach and cool down a bit, easy to come here. Lots of shops, restaurants, etc. Just a bit eexpensive. Outside the mall there are always someone singing or playing music, or small stalls selling lots of interesting things. If you need to catch a minibus to Mo Chit in Bangkok, then you can get it on the back corner. Worth a visit, even if just to get out of the sun.
