Very informative but also specific museum about batik and textiles. But free admission and plenty to learn and see- don’t miss out on the second floor.
This was a great place to stumble upon even as a local. The exhibition was very educational and some (not all) were very well presented. Clean, and well laid out place
This is a wonderful exhibition. Beautifully made and very instructive. I am a craft nerd, but even my SO loved this place. The museum shop was lovely too and the cafe was very nice.
Free entrance. Requires only registration (sign in) when you enter. You will discover new things about the history of textiles in Malaysia, clothings, jewelleries, decorations...It's quite big and the rooms have AC and lots of staff to mantain it, also security staff so I was impressed the entrance was free. I assume it works on funds from the national budget...? Well done Malaysia!
One of my favorite exhibits in KL. The demonstrations on how these gorgeous fabrics were made is excellent. Rich with culture and history. I wish we had had more time. Definitely worth a visit.
Very good collection of various textiles over generations, among different people. The Indian dresses were popular and silk was worn as a mark of richness. The smoothening of the dresses by use of snail shells using a fixed long stick was exciting to watch. Persons interested in the evolution of dresses should visit. The nyonya dresses history was awesome. The dresses from processed bark was very good to know
Such a lovely building. Very informative displays. Just a shame that the Cafe and gift shop were closed.
