I really enjoy going here. Lots to look at, exhibits change and a lovely quiet garden in the middle to get away from the noise of the city. Would be a 5 star review, but the entry cost, $10, is a bit more I would like, but I don't mind if it helps keep the place running.
shaun holroydфевр. 19, 2018
The price is fairly steep (10 for entry and 5 for an audio guide). Although I understand this goes towards the upkeep of the museum, it is still a large price to pay for the information given. The audio guide was fairly good, as many of the pieces do not have a written English explanation beside it, and the stories are worth listening too. The museum itself is pretty small, understandably, but one should go in if they enjoy looking at such sculptures and have the time to spare.

A good buffer for understanding Hindu and Buddhism symbols and figures found in art and architecture of the region. Some of the works were recovered from looters and or taken from historical sites for conservation purposes. The audio guide was helpful, without it the visit would seem rather monotone. It would be great if they would keep up with the cleaning of the interior walls. The courtyard garden is very well done, it's a good place to take a break.

Great place to bring my kids here to understand about our culture and enjoy the view on weekend. The ticket price is acceptable so there are a lot of foreigner visit here everyday especially on the weekend. We also can bring kids to feed the fish here and there a lot of different kind of fish. Kids love feeding the fish and buy the food for fish from the lady inside the hall.

As a fan of random statues, I was pleased to see a few interesting works. Although architecture has resemblance to many similar buildings, it has its own charm. Blend of Elephants and greenery is often encountered. Besides, a few statutes of some mythological figures are scattered around. Not a big museum, so it may take an hour max to explore it.
Farruh Tilloянв. 16, 2018
This museum definitely impressed me. There is a ton of information about the religious, political and architectural history of Cambodia. I wasn't expecting it to be so large with so many exhibits. I suggest getting the audio guide. We didn't and we felt like we missed out on a lot of good information. There are some information plaques in English but no enough to make up for no guide. Also, don't go in hungry. I went in on a light breakfast not anticipating how much there was to see and ended up going too quickly at the end with the anticipation of lunch. Also there is no photography allowed, which is a huge bummer because there are so many beautiful things.
Sim Molidaапр. 4, 2018
If you've been to the Angkor museum in Seam Reap you know that Cambodians can offer a modern museum experience. Here there should have been more interpretation offered on the exhibits without paying an additional cost above the entrance fee. The displays were very repetitive in design. The artifacts themselves were great, unfortunately there were only ancient ones. Some stuff from the last 200 years would be appropriate for a national museum.

The museum was priced fair an a total of $15.00 for entrance and audio guide. The exhibits are well presented but they do not allow photographs taken inside. I find that it would be a benefit if they did allow with no flash. They will let you take a photo in garden for a fee? The cases need help, many displays with out explanations and display card so faded you can not make out what was written. Audio had an annoying 10 second preamble to every display. The works presented are a good representation of the Cambodian culture. Slightly annoyed with flowers to be presented to deities for donation inside the museum. I respect another’s belief but always hitting up for donations inside what you have all ready paid for.

Great place to visit. I would say it's a must do in Phnom Penh. Beautiful architecture and great indoor garden. Entrance fee is $10. The visit shouldn't take more than 1h30min. You don't really need a guide since most of the explanations are already written on the walls. The indoor garden is a good place to just relax and maybe even read a book. I really enjoyed the design of that building.

For a national museum, it's kind of small - even for a small country like Cambodia. I've been by the Angkor National Museum in Siem Reap, and that museum looks much more impressive from the outside (but it is a modern building). The courtyard is very nice though.I had less than an hour to visit, so didn't have time to really take my to enjoy the museum.

Fairly small but interesting museum. There isn't a lot of information to read on the artifacts so get the audio guide - it is very extensive! If you're not familiar with Khmer culture, visit the Angkor National Museum first - it will give you a much better understanding and appreciation when you come here.

It's a nice place to go and the audio guide is 10 bucks, which is totally a worth. The whole museum is not extended. 1h 30min might cover the whole exhibition. U can also spend as much time as u want, just sitting there listening to the audio guide, knowing better about Khmer art history.

If you plan to go to Angkor Wat, then you should go here first to see the statues, because most are gone from the temples. The museum is not very large but the selection of stone carving is quite good. The printed descriptions by each work are minimal so I suggest you get the audio guide. Layout is generally chronological if you go through in a counterclockwise direction.
