The Leaning Tower of Pisa (Italian: torre pendente di Pisa) or simply the Tower of Pisa (torre di Pisa [ˈtorre di ˈpiːza; ˈpiːsa]) is the campanile, or freestanding bell tower, of the cathedral of the Italian city of Pisa, known worldwide for its nearly four-degree lean, the result of an unstable foundation. The tower is situated behind the Pisa Cathedral and is the third-oldest structure in the city's Cathedral Square (Piazza del Duomo), after the cathedral and the Pisa Baptistry.

It is exactly how you imagine it would be. Great views from the top. Really easy to get to. Lots and lots of decent restaurants nearby. Do yourself a favour and get lost down some of the side streets.

I've seen the leaning tower of Pisa so many times in photos but to see in person was very surreal. It is as impressive and beautiful as one would expect it to be. And quirky.

The Cathedral square is definitely one the most important centers of European medieval art and am UNESCO world heritage site. It represents a complex of the finest architectural monuments in the world. Not far away from the city center, you can walk there. Better visit earlier than 11.00am, later on is really crowded.

Awesome historic place featuring The leaning tower of Pisa. One thing you have to watch out for are pickpockets here as the crowds can be massive especially during the summer months. The ticket cost is E18 to get in the historic buildings. There's a lot of cafes and souvenir shops in the area too.

This is a pretty special piazza and one of the the most recognisable in all of Italy. The focal point is of course the leaning tower of Pisa but the cathedral and baptistry also add so much to the piazza. You will also find a tourist information centre and a museum and cemetery. The best way to see all of the objects is to book online in advance.

one of the most beautiful places to visit. Northern Italy is packed full of wonderful places. Didn't have enough time to see it all but just walking around the streets and the main Piazza was breath taking..If you love renaissance art and architecture then have a good day looking at some of the most beautiful in Europe. Lovely little cafés and bars around the area. Wander a little further from the tourist attractions and get a better taste of Pisa.

The leaning tower of Pisa is very beautiful and worth visiting. The church before the tower is beauty too. You need to buy a pass to enter the church. The pass is free of cost but it gives you a specific time slot when you can visit the church. There is no entry charge to see the tower. But if you wish to go to the top then you have to buy a pass worth €8.

You should not leave Florence without visiting this plaza. This cathedral looks like something out of a black and with comic book or something with it's with and black shell. It is really one of the most remarkable looking cathedrals in all the world. If you miss this cathedral the one one in sienna is very similar. if tou want to see the interior of the church you need to book tickets in advance or you will probably not get in.

Wow is one word to describe it. You have to get the local shuttle bus to get to this place after parking your vehicle a couple of kilometres away. Wash room facilities is very bad in fact it is limited to a McDonald's outlet which is near the piazza. You buy something you will be given a ticket which entitles you free use of wash room. If not you have to pay 50 cents. Don't be bugged by the people from Africa trying to sell souvenirs and bags to you. They will speak a little bit of Hindi, Mandrin (Chinese) and such languages to impress you. Be careful while dealing with them just to be on a safer side do not display all the cash you are carrying, it might be an invitation for a robbery. I am not saying these people are robbers but it is a tourist place and it is better not to be the centre of attraction. These people have such poor conditions back home and they consider being alive itself as a luxury. So if you buy something from them it would be of help to them but always check for the prices at the local shops too and compare. Bargaining is allowed.

Just another beautiful square in Italy where you can sit and enjoy food and drinks watching people all day. All the pretty buildings around are worth checking out. It is easy to walk here from Train station and can be checked out on the way to Leaning Tower.

Wonderful atmosphere. Beautiful architecture and nice markets. Seeing the people from all around the globe gathered to admire one of the most famous landmarks in the world taught us many things. You could see the smile on every single face. The cathedral and the leaning tower are really attractive. The Pisa town is also beautiful with all of the beautiful surroundings; weather, nature , architecture and people. The parkings are available everywhere and it is not issue. Must seen if you visit Italy.

The spot is a nice place for drawing. We had to draw a part of the Piazza del Duomo and it turned out pretty nice. But that's irrelevant. It's a nice place. It looks pretty good and there is a McDonald's. If you go here you have to watch out for the people who try to sell you things. They have very shady tactics to make you pay for it. They charge you a lot of money and you need to make sure you do some things to make the price less. The McDonald's is good too, but it's pretty cheap and not very clean

People write a lot about the leaning tower of Pisa however righy next to it is this magnificent cathedral. The public entrance has a bronze door that depicts the life story of Jesus Christ. There is another entrance on the right for the religious and the pilgrims. The public doors open after 10 in the morning. The ambience inside is deeply pious. It is surrounded by lush green grass (PS : you are not allowed to step onto the grass though)

One hears a lot about the leaning tower of Pisa. None of those stories or pictures do it justice. It's quite a thing to see it up close and notice just how far it's really leaning. The experience is much more than just the tower. The other buildings surrounding it, and the local shops and cafes are interesting as well. This is definitely a tourist stop not to be missed.

The place to come to see THE David, which is not far from here. And there are other awesome sculptures. Can get crowded so best early or late in the day but the light won't be so good for photos. Cathedral is magnificent from the outside, did not go in. Difficult to spend any length of time here because of the crowds, and water and food is expensive to buy so come prepared. Minus one star because enjoyment is hampered by the busyness of the place.

Mention of leaning tower of Pisa not only appears in History & Geography but also in Physics. While defying the gravity, as per a story, it has also helped to demonstrate a quintessential property of gravity. Seeing a tourist spot with own eyes is always better as compared to reading information or viewing photos. I appreciated this on visiting the tower. Somehow, I had a delusion that the tower is a standalone structure. In reality, the tower is a part of a Cathedral. It is a watchtower. Leaning posture of the marble tower on the backdrop of perfectly vertical marble walls of the Cathedral immediately strikes to the eye. Tourist vehicles are not allowed inside the city. These are parked in a designated spot away from the tower. From here a complimentary City bus service drops the tourists near the tower. The path from the drop off point of the bus & the Cathedral complex is lined up with many eateries & souvenir shops. A limited number of tickets are available for entry to the tower as per chosen time slots. Gratis WiFi is available inside the entire complex.

A beautiful and stunning building situated at Pisa. Its a awe inspiring Dome next to the leaning tower. The architecture is simply breathtaking in its design. The grassy area surrounding the structures adds to the beauty of the place. Most tourists relax on the grassy areas and simply take in the beauty of the surrounding structure. A unique and beautiful place to visit.

Very pleasant space and home to Pisa's main attraction. Worth it to visit and admire the architecture of not only the tower (which is much more leaning in real life than it appears in the photos), but the cathedral and the baptistery as well. The grass grounds are very nice for a break as well. Don't forget to take the typical funny picture with the tower, and be amused by everyone else who's doing the same!

Very exciting although this was our second time going inside the tower. But make sure you get those legs practiced walking uphill before going inside the Leaning tower. The view was exhilarating from the top. The queue' s pretty long, so go in the queue 15minutes before your scheduled tour.

The architecture here is amazing. The Leaning Tower is so beautiful to see in person. Seeing it on television does not do it justice. You must see this in person. The whole area of Piazza del Duomo is so awesome. My wife and I really enjoyed our visit here.

I have wanted to see this place since childhood. It did not disappoint. Amazing photo opportunities. A must-see location if you are anywhere near the area. I did not go to the top of the tower because I believed that the beauty if the location was best observed from the ground. I will defer to the opinions of others on this point.

The Dome is impressive!!! It is definitely huge. The queue to visit it is huge also. Because I went there unexpectedly, I did not got the chance to visit it. The piazza around the Dome is nice, full of restaurants and bars and gellaterias. But the prices are kind of high. One bar charged 8 EUR for a beer while the price is in average below 5 EUR in other areas. Anyway, I think it is one of the must-sees of Florence.
