Heinz Memorial Chapel is a Pittsburgh History and Landmarks Foundation Historic Landmark and a contributing property to the Schenley Farms National Historic District on the campus of the University of Pittsburgh in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, United States.
The chapel was a gift of German-American Henry John Heinz, founder of the H.J. Heinz Company, who wanted to honor his mother, Anna Margaretha Heinz, with a building at the university. Upon his death in 1919, Heinz's three surviving children (Howard, Irene, and Clifford) added to his bequest in order to memorialize their grandmother and honor their father. Their choice of a chapel for a memorial was guided by the concepts of education and religion which Anna Margaretta Heinz imbued in her children.

Absolutely gorgeous architecture. The docent was very pleasant and helpful. Great place for photographers novice to professional to hone their skills or develop a new one.

If you want a cool experience, ask the docent to hear the organ. They have a special program that will play the organ even if there isn't an organist. Definitely something you must do if you visit the chapel.

Went for a wedding. Beautiful church inside and out. The upgraded audio and air conditioning are welcome add-ons to the stories I had heard about weddings there in prior years. We were quite comfortable throughout and had no issues during the ceremony.

Possibly the most beautiful place in Oakland. Feels bigger on the inside. A nice place to find a bit of quiet and respite in an otherwise loud and busy part of town. As others have mentioned, getting to hear the organ is a treat - but it's nice to sit and listen to the space breathe, too. Stained glass (featuring both religious and secular images) is spectacular. Love the kaleidescope effect it plays on the stone on sunny days. If you have a chance, come to a Sunday night compline service here. It's practically otherworldly.

Very beautiful. Definitely glad we made the stop. The stained glasses is absolutely stunning if you go while the sun is out! The employee working there was very kind to turn on the organ and let me hear it!
