Overlooked and under appreciated historical sight!! The artwork here is amazing! Of course it is all religious but the colors are so vibrant. Truly an amazing experience and so glad we stumbled upon it. Easily spent 2hrs just walking the convent and taking all the artwork in. The curator should be commended for the display and arrangement.

The Saint Agnes Convent near Old Town is a hidden gem. Despite its large size it's easily glossed over as there's so much to see and do. The story of Anges the sister to Duke Václav / Wenceslaus the Good unfolds as you visit the Convent proper which is truly fascinating. The National Gallery which now presents the site to the public have also a wonderful Religious Art exhibition covering the early to later Medieval period. The interpretation throughout the site is so well done it is easy to spend either a short time or much longer time here. We spent three hours here and could have been there longer. There's a wonderful schools room, a chic looking restaurant which we did not have time to try sadly. The facilities where overall were very well designed. If you have a love affair with Prague this is a must to visit .

Very nice old gothic monastery, with a huge collection of medieval art/iconographic work

I must freely admit that I have not visited any other art museum in this city, unless you count Prague itself, for it is a museum for the senses in my eyes! That said, I've been to the Uffizi. I've been to the Louvre. I've been to the Met in NYC. This lovely little gem has more extraordinary medieval art in my eyes than all three of those museums combined. My heart was literally in my throat and my jaw on the floor as I snapped away at countless carvings, paintings and other mostly (99%) religious media. I would come back to Prague again just to see this museum- I'm not kidding.

Excellent collection of medieval art mostly from Bohemia. The covent itself is worth a look (free) and there is a good cafe.

The Agnes monastery is one of the most important Gothic buildings in Prague. It was founded in the thirties of the 13th century by the Přemyslid princess of St. Anežka Česká together with his brother, King Václav I The tour circuit maps the history of individual parts of the uniquely preserved ground plan of a medieval monastery. All the distinguished spaces, including the Oratory of St. Agnieszky, Sanctuary of the Salvator and the Church of Sts. Frantisek with the Place of Remembrance of King Wenceslas I
