This is one of the gates to the old city and had to be restored after taking serious damage during the Battle Of Prague. That said, it has been done well and is faithful to the original. Were it not for the black colouring of the stone, it would look like a miniature fairy castle. I am told that this colouring is due to type of stone, which turns from yellow to black as it ages, and not due to pollution. Much of Dresden is built from a similar stone. The view from the top is also well worth the climb with great picture opportunities.

One of the most impressive historical building in this part of the city. Old entrance to the Old Prague City, was the part of the city walls. You can come in and climb over the top. Entrance fee. Great place to make some photos. Very popular for tourists.

I'm really surprised there were not more people up here. For the half an hour or so that we were at the top, there were only about four other people walking around. I think it might be because the entrance is a bit hidden. You have to go through a doorway, and up a small staircase before you get to the ticket office. It costs 65 CZK (about $3.25 USD) to climb the tower. This was a steal because once you get to the top, you get 360 view of the city. You’ll get great views of all of the houses and churches, with plenty of Instagrammable spots. Make sure you don’t leave Prague without checking out the Powder Tower!

A great site to visit in the city centre. Budget approximately 30 minutes here. Cost is 100 CZK and worth it. The panoramic views from the top are fantastic and great for photos and selfies - make sure you have a good grip on your camera, there are no windows or netting stopping you from losing it over the side. No toilet/WC or souvenir shop, and the stairs to access each floor are very steep and narrow. You must have excellent mobility to climb these stairs: NOT wheelchair, stroller, or child friendly (must be able to climb stairs well, parents will have difficulty carrying anything up these steps). I recommend a quick visit here.

anytime I am visiting this area, this tower is taking my attention all the time. it is gorgeous and unique. one of the jewels of Prague. Easy to understand why there is always people taking pictures in front of it.

Make sure you read about the Powder Tower and how it relates to the Old Town beforehand, since knowing the history of the place you are stepping into can improve the experience. Anyhow, the views from atop are delightful, though not open. A tip from me: if you are a student or a tutor, do ask for a discount. Bonus: Give it a try at the puzzle on the middle level (I couldn't solve it).

Narrow staircase. One at a time. Good view from top.

Very nice and quick flashback into time. Not very expensive and nice view at the top.

Beautiful tower that takes you back in time. Its almost surreal to see this tower in the middle of a more modern area. You can take pictures from the ground or climb the tower for a better view of the surroundings. ;)

Walking up was very fun and it got me a little dizzy in the end. There is not much space on the top but there were not so many people as I have experienced before in lookout towers in Prague. You should definitely come here in the evening.

This monumental entrance by which the coronation processions of Czech kings entered the Old Town is one of the most significant monuments of Late Gothic Prague. Completed in 1475, the Powder Tower, which formerly served as a gunpowder store, is still the starting point for the Coronation or Royal Route to Prague Castle. The viewing gallery is located at a height of 44 m.

I loved the view from above. There were some tablets as well with the name of important building tops that you could see into any direction. Short advice: Take care on stairs.

This is one of the first sites we saw while walking through the city and it is better to see it when walking than a bus trip or driving past. Very interesting site to go to.

Beautiful view from the top of the tower.. The tickets can be purchased from the 1st floor, costs around 3Euros per person.. There are around 172 or 173 steps to the top..

Worth the climb to the top. Good workout for the legs as you have to climb all the way to the top with narrow stairs. Great view. Our first stop for the day that gave us a great view of the day to come on our walk through Prague.

An exquisitely beautiful city around every corner. Prague has always been a dream destination of mine to visit one day and I finally got the chance. I could talk for hours about this beautiful city, but it's just something you need to experience for yourself, you won't regret it.

The entrance fee was 4euros per person. The view was really great. Recomend to visit before the sunset!
