Brilliant. Great facilities. First time there and I loved it very much. I didn't know what to expect but really glad I went. Huge park on the top of a hill overlooking Prague. Large variety of animals in big enclosures. Many newborn animals that you were able to see. Exceptionally clean park - no rubbish anywhere. Very reasonably priced tickets for what was on offer. Definitely recommend!

One of the best zoos in Europe. Very good for small children and toddlers. Wonderful penguin and arctic pool. House animal zoo is somewhere where you can touch the animals. There's also a chair road up the hill (be cautious while the chair is good for 1 adults only when the safety belt is used, better put children in a separate chair when old enough). Plan at least half a day to spend there.

Amazing huge zoo! The variety and amount of animals is incredible. Has nice restaurants inside it. You can walk there for four hours and not visit all the animals. The ticket had a reasonable price and there are plenty of places to sit and rest.

A fantastic zoo with well designed exhibits. Fun cable car and plenty of little bars for snacks and drinks. Can easily spend a day here. Loved it.

I recently took a trip to Prague with some friends in December. Prague zoo is rated as one of the top zoos in the world so I was anticipating a very good experience different than a typical zoo which has small quarters for animals and treats them appropriately. I was thoroughly disappointed to find that a large number of the enclosures we're significantly shrubbed, the tiger cages were horribly structured giving it almost no room to move around, the llamas were following us as we walked around looking hungry, and lastly the elephants were so crammed in an all metal tank enclosure with no windows or natural habitat imitation. Now I know people would say if you really care about animals you'll stop supporting zoos and go for conservation lands etc, but zoos are a reality and therefore we have to work towards that goal. End rant, anyways, the zoo was definitely not what I thought it would be and anyone who thinks it may be one of the zoos that takes care of their animals might be surprised. I hope that they could expand the reserve areas for the animals based on their required space of living and restructure the facility, for a space making an extraordinary amount of money should be able to work on that

Its the best Zoo I know. You can be there the whole day and still dont see and do everything. Great job what they did

Friend told me that zoo + hangover = best times. She definitely was right. I think it could have been better if I were even more hangover. Top 3 to check: - Meerkat (No need for reason) - Gorilla (surprisingly smart dudes) - Giraffe (surprisingly long necks)

Fantastic Zoo, great outing for a summer day with kids! To completely enjoy the zoo, one day was not sufficient for us... Feeding time for elephants was fun to watch! Having been to several other zoos, this was the stinkiest zoo that I have ever been. If the zoo officials can do something about it, I would give a 5 star after my next visit. Nevertheless, happy to recommend to everyone who would love to see the brighter side of life! 😇

Prague Zoo is the best zoo I have visited. Its a place I take my visitors from abroad. A great place for a whole day tour and fits all ages. We have visited it more than 30 times and it's always great. Including various restaurants and snacks, coffee and cakes. Lots of fun for children that can run around and enjoy the animals and the playgrounds. You cannot see it all in one day, as it is very big. Highly recommended.

Huge zoo with a huge collection well worth the visit. Allow plenty of time and arrive early to make sure you explore the whole park and see all the exhibits. Highlights for me were the three tiger species, the small cats and the elephants Malaysian tigers had cubs when I visited and was lucky enough to see them at feeding time for some great behaviours. Cat feeding times are advertised so it's the best time to see all fishing cats and clouded leopards as well as lots of other rare species displaying behaviour apart from sleeping and hiding. Even when the elephants are inside, as they were because of the winter cold the day I visited, there is a terrific indoor viewing area with very informative information panels. Plenty places to eat and have a seat. Good food at inexpensive prices throughout.

The location is on hill which allows to have different levels and also cliffs for some animals. The design of the zoo makes it very natural & there are little mesh protecting from wild animals. Instead they use glass walls. There is a high diversity of animals but you can still make the tour in one day. Food & beverage are plenty and at a fair price. In short, best zoo I have been. I recommend it when visiting Prague with children.

A wonderful zoo with plenty of animals. It's really accessible with public transport. Entry was around the equivalent of 8 Euro. It took me and my mom about 3 hours at a leisurely pace to go through most things but we still didn't get to go to everything. Definitely with a whole day with family. You can then get to the center of the city in around 30 minutes bus public transport for just the equivalent of 1 Euro per person.

An excellent zoo with good enclosures for the animals. Can spend a whole day here. The chairlift to the top was great and its an easy walk down viewing birds and animals along the way. Plenty of benches to rest and many refreshment stalls. Easy public transport access bus 112 which stops at the entrance.

Very cheaply priced, especially for students. It's a large site with a huge variety of different species and animals, including polar bears and kangaroos. The map can be hard to understand and actually follow. Food and drink is cheaply priced. It takes a good few hours to get around the whole zoo and see all the sights. Elephant valley is fantastic.

My partner and I spend around 6 hours while visiting the zoo, so plan a good half to full day to visit it. And by buying or printing the map of the zoo you are making your life a lot easier because there are definitely not enough signs inside. The bathrooms were free which is quite rare for Czechs Republic in general. The animals look taken care of and you can actually visit it with your dog! The only problem we encountered was that not many food places accept credit cards. Other than that it was a pleasant walk in the zoo!

The Zoo is sprawling and quite honestly gorgeous. The major flaw with the zoo is that they say the park stays open until nine, which it does. But after about six or so, all the big attraction animals are no longer in their exhibits. (Lions, elephants, giraffes, wolves, hippos, etc) And most, if not all, houses are closed as well. So by the time six or seven rolls around, the zoo is basically closed. If you were going to go to the zoo, I definitely would get up early and visit around the time they open for it to be worth it. Otherwise, skip it and do something else in the afternoon.

We had a fabulous day out at Prague zoo. Easy enough to find using metro c (red line) then the 112 bus drops you straight outside. The zoo is a lovely design into the hill's - so be prepared for lot's of walking and hilly area's. A variety of animals I have never seen in the flesh before - I've seen a real life polar bear!! Amazing!!

Family friendly, beautiful, and well maintained zoo makes an excellent all day outing for families. It is very user friendly, with beautiful gardens, shady paths, lots of inexpensive refreshment stands, and of course well cared for animals. Everything was clean (even the bathrooms). We spent 6 hours and didn't see everything. Truth be told, this was our favorite thing to do in Prague :/

TAKE A MAP! without it you will get lost as the directions inside it are not enough nor accurate. Many food stops and toilets and most roads are suitable for kids and strollers. Only cable ride you can't have a stroller with you. I visited in Jul. Most of the animals were sleepingor hiding, try to visit in warmer weather. Pretty big and has variety of animals, can spend 4 hours easily in it. Far from City center though, only way is car or bus. Then tram/metro is about 10 minutes away.
