A real treasure and attraction that can put you back in Roman times in a moment. It is very good preserved. One of the must see attraction in Pula.

Augustus temple preserved by Roman forum,,!! The Temple of Augustus (Croatian: Augustov hram) is a well-preserved Roman temple in the city of Pula, Croatia (known in Roman times as Pola). Dedicated to the first Roman emperor, Augustus, it was probably built during the emperor's lifetime at some point between 27 BC and his death in AD 14. It was built on a podium with a tetrastyle prostyle porch of Corinthian columns and measures about 8 by 17.3 m (26 by 57 ft), and 14 m (46 ft) high. The richly decorated frieze is similar to that of a somewhat larger and more recent temple, the Maison Carrée in Nîmes, France. These two temples are considered the two best complete Roman monuments outside Italy.

The temple is good for pictures, but there is not much else. Inside is very small.

Beautiful temple located in the main square/old forum. Entry is included in the Pula card or, you can pay at the door. It looks amazing both day & night as it transforms in each setting. Highly recommend just taking time to sit back & enjoy the view, even if you don’t know the history behind it.

I followed a Rick Steves Guidebook to this point, he talks about it in length in his Croatian Guidebook. My husband and I walked up to this place and the splendid detail of the place doesn't go unnoticed, just the history alone is fascinating. Highly recommend!

Cool place but the industrial site was right behind it so that looked kinda ugly. Really beautiful temple though.

Very interesting place set in the forum of the old town. It’s 10 kuna to get in or included in the Pula card. Contains lots of archeological finds dating back as early as a few years BC. Definitely worth visiting!
