These tour guides gave you a taste of what it's like to live in the Dominican Republic. Eddie Murphy and Daniel and Moses were the best tour guides! They took us on a tour around a village, downtown, to a private beach, a river, and even prepared us with excellent food!
If you want to experience the Dominican life of the locals, you must book this trip!! Great tour guide; Leandro and Cesar takes care of you...pickup is early at 8ish so have breakfast. But after they will take you to a beautiful mountain range where you can enjoy the spectacular views while they feed you food. Also happy hour is all day on this trip as they will provide you water, beer, liquor throughout the whole trip!! They will also take you too various plantations. I learned so much about the DOMINICAN culture from this tour. Not to mention the money raised from the trip helps funds kids schooling and goes back to the Locals.
Jesus was the absolute best tour guide! He was funny and very informative. I've been to Punta Cana 3 times and the views during lunch and Macao beach were the most beautiful we've seen yet. The food was hands down the best Dominican food I've ever eaten. I would recommend this tour to anyone who doesn't mind the heat+walking and wants to purchase the best tasting coffee and rums at affordable prices. I wish they sold El Chappey's online.
We chose the Outback Safari excursion as one of our Nexus Tours options and thoroughly enjoyed this rewarding experience. Please consider bringing with you some school supplies for the children that you will visit during the stop at the school. They can use all of the assistance that they can get. Please note that the Outback Adventures organization will also invest half of the proceeds for the items they sell (shirts, hats, etc.) back to the community. The bus ride was safe and never uncomfortable. Eddy is a multilingual, world-class tour guide and we were very thrilled to spend our day with him.
What a great tour, fun and educational. The school was closed so we missed it. The food we had was the best on our entire trip. Rudy and Papi were amazingly entertaining! You can donate supplies or money to the school. Buy the coffee with cinnamon!!!!
My husband and I booked this on our cruise this past week. It was amazing to say the least. We loved that we got to see the less touristy side of DR. Our guide, Manny, was hilarious and very interactive. I personally didn’t like the beach at the end. Not because it wasn’t nice, but by the end of the tour we were just very tired and ready to go back to the boat, plus it was very windy so sand just kept blowing in our eyes. The food included in the lunch was amazing. I highly recommend this tour.
Absolutely amazing time! We had Leo and Angel as our driver and guide. They were honestly the best people to have. Got to see what the Dominican is really like, as well as eating real Dominican food and trying real products. Highly recommended! Also give funds to the local schools which is lovely!
Went on the tour in May 2018. Angel was a fantastic tour guide and driver Leo. Angel was so knowledge and full of good humour. This is a tour everyone should take while visting the Dominican. It gives a realistic look at life on the island off resort and you get to see not only how products and crafts are produced and made but a great way to support locals without being bombarded at the beach and fair prices. It was a highlight of my trip and learnt so much.
Tui outback safari Don't be fooled this is NOT a safari You start off by stopping next to a school no option to get off etc then you stop 50 yards or so down the road where they get all the outback merchandise out for you to purchase Then you visit a few plantations with options to purchase then stop for lunch then go to beach for 40 minutes then get back an hour earlier than what you are told No off-road or forest experience like a SAFARI should be The tui rep said it says outback safari but they can call it what they like so thanks to tui we don't get the experience we wanted for our daughters - who wanted to go back to hotel by 11.30 as they were quite fed up
Our family thought the Outback tour was great! I encourage people to read reviews so that you understand what it's about (pro's/con's). Our guide (Juan) and driver (Leo) were very entertaining, knowledgeable, friendly, and interactive. Yes, the tour offers the various products that they introduce you to for purchase (rum, coconut, cigars, tshirts), but as most on our tour wanted to purchase items along the way, we didn't feel it was a negative aspect. There is no pressure from vendors at the various stops to buy at all. You can leave your belongings on the bus at each stop, as the driver stays on the bus. Good lunch on the mountain top. The highlight of the tour for us was the beach stop at the end -- Macao Beach was just outstanding...crystal clear water, not crowded, no vendors, boogie boards available, etc. Highly recommend the tour if you're interested in learning about DR products and culture.
This was our, my husband Victor and I, second trip to this country. This was the first day trip we ever attended. Our guide George and driver Wilson were the best. They were entertaining as well as extremely informative about their country. We learned so much about this country and it’s people. This was the best time ever. Looking forward to returning with the rest of the family. Thanks guys!
I had the pleasure of traveling to the DR and experiencing this excursion with family. It was booked through our Amstar rep Hector while we stayed at the Turquesa Hotel from June 21-26, 2018. Our tour guide was Angel and our driver was Vladimir. This 8 hour excursion was amazing and I would highly recommend it. We toured a school, an animal and plant garden, saw natives hand make cigars, cut coconuts and demonstrate the difference between coconut water/milk, toured one of their remaining beaches, ate a Dominican meal for lunch and visited a Dominican family home. There the husband even showed us how he makes coffee. It was a real, up close and personal experience to say the least. Our guide, Angel was informative, very funny, and interactive throughout the entire tour. He is a native of DR and was an excellent guide. This was my first time traveling to Punta Cana and I plan on going back in the near future. I highly recommend this tour.
