Punta del Este (Spanish pronunciation: [ˈpunta ðel ˈeste]) is the second city of Uruguay and the most important resort town in South America, the Punta area 220,000 residents add to a peak of over 600,000 people during the summer season, while year-round the town receives one million tourists.
This lighthouse is open only on the Día del Patrimonio which date changes every year in October. So check it before your trip. It's absolutely free, BUT you can't go there with small kids for their security.
Faro de Punta del este is opposite to the church and is a good place to see in a day trip, it was closed the time I was visiting not sure whether it is open for usual public or not but still to see it we can go once
I coul not access to the top and take picts . There is no table of hours and no information. It seems to be at optimal conditions.
Very cool, nice view
Nice pictures could be taken there, they could have better information services regarding the light house opening time
