Surfing is a drug. Between waves is a lull of pure contentment. Vaguely you remember the last ride. More though is that click in the brain anticipating the next rush. Walk out of the water through all the sedentary people. Those most committed to immobility are getting high with their gourds of mate.

This is an iconic image, a sculpture that appears in books, movies, and websites featuring Punta del Este and even Chile, in general. The fingers protrude from the sand on the beach, on an elevated area. It is well posited and an effective image. The reason I did not give it 5 stars is that the "fingers sculpture" surface is worn in many places and it needs refinishing.

In high season there are TOO many people, so you should stay in a queue to wait your turn. Some guys offer to take a dron photo. Every year the color of fingers changes, by the way.

This sculpture by Chilean artist Mario Irarrázabal is located in Playa Brava. It's a hand emerging from the ground symbolizing the iconic image of a man drowning. The same artist made a replica of the hand in the Atacama Desert in Chile. The place is usually crowded due to people taking pictures.

If you have seen the world don't bother to spend your time here. There are a lot a beautiful places in the world that this place. For what it offers Punta del Este the prices are crazy high like in Monaco, except that isn't Monaco. These fingers are nothing like in the internet pictures, they are rusty, not in sand, you can't take a photo there because is full of people.

Este é um lugar delicioso para se passear. Sempre sonhei em visitar essa parte de Punta. Via motorciclistas postarem fotos dos dedos e decidi que um dia eu iria fazer isso. Em 2017 mudei para o uruguay e agora posso fazer isso quantas vezes eu desejar.

You can get some nice photos. But sometimes it's crowded, so you need to be patient and wait for the right moment for a photo.

This is a very unique and popular tourist destination. This artistic creation has drawn tourists from all over the world to have their photo taken amongst the hand. Truly an ingenious artistic creation. The beach is very beautiful to visit as well. If a person is staying in Montevideo, it is very easy to get here by bus.

This is such an awesome attraction to see if you visit Punta del Este, Uruguay! Certain parts of the day will have heavier traffic than other parts of the day, but even with other people around, it is entirely worth it to get a picture with this famous sculpture. You can even enjoy the beautiful walk along the beach where you will see multiple species of birds and the calm waves crashing.
