Queenstown Central is the central business district of Queenstown in the South Island of New Zealand. It also contains residential areas. The area contains Queenstown Primary and St Joseph's schools, and contained Wakatipu High School until it moved to Frankton at the beginning of 2018.
Skyline Queenstown operates a gondola and luge to and from Ben Lomond, with the gondola operating since 1967 and the luge since 1998.
The buffet restaurant on the top of gondola base is great. Good value for money if you purchase the gondola & buffet combo ticket. Lunch is cheaper & give enough time to 15:00 to enjoy your relax & delicious meal. As long as people don't compare the buffet to fine dinning restaurant.

Quite a unique way of painlessly seeing the beautiful vista around Queenstown. The cable cars themselves are relatively small bur the trip isn't really very long. We went at night, but I'm sure that it would be likely better during the day. You miss out on the lights but you can certainly see the lake and the wooded forest below you. The other option is to do a walk / run up. If you are not so fit / can't really be bothered

Great fun for both kids and adults. Get the annual pass if you are planning to go here couple of times and doing the activities. E.g. 50% off luge. Luge is a must try. There are other extreme activities as well such as paragliding or bungee down to the forest. They also offer stargazing experience.

Little bit pricy for one Gondola journey. I went there on daytime and I thought I could use my ticket one more time for sunset photography. I asked to staff and he said it’s only valid for one journey. Nice view and city but it would be great if I could use my ticket multiple times.

Real nice place here. We had such a great time as a family. They've got a restaurant and they've got a cafe also. If you fancy a simple fish and ships or if you want a fancy meal it's all there. I would send you right to the restaurant because their deserts are just mad and food is really nice. Not to forget, the luge is very well built and and lots of fun for the kids. Only two tracks, bloggers and advanced. There is also an area were you can have a walk up the luge, I must warn you, it's a very steep hill so come prepared, plenty of water if you are going in the summer time.

The Gondola ride was OK. However, you get some great views as you go up! Once you reach the top you actually have to climb down a little to get to the Luge ride. I did the Luge ride three times! You have to do the blue lane once and then can choose b/w the blue and the red. The red lane is more fun with some amazing drops, steep curves and a slightly longer route!

Massively overpriced in all areas. Amazing view. However can get similar views elsewhere. Staff at ticket box were great. The staff at the top and bottom getting on/off the gondola don't greet you. too busy talking amongst themselves. The ride itself is extremely clunky, not smooth at all. and its way too quick to even enjoy the view on the way up and down. if you're a solo traveller you'll get put in with others. Compared to Christchurch and other places in the world, extremely disappointed for the price.

Must see tourist attraction in Queenstown - Head up the chairlift before sunset and watch over Queenstown as it transitions from day to night. The bar and restaurants are Ok, but you get better food in Queenstown. It is well worth the expense to go on the toboggans - they are a lot of fun.

I visited Skyline both Rotorua and Queenstown countless times. The service just got worse and worse and to the worst. I didn't want photos taken, for many years, they actually respected this decision as any reasonable person should. However, they chose to violate my right today. They took a photo of the back of my head, and actually had the guts to show it to me. When I said that's not nice, I just didn't want the photo taken. The rude answer was told by several staff, who surrounded me at the time saying - "It's our job" "Well. You don't need to buy it.". I mean, is it really relevant whether I want to purchase the photo or not? I just didn't want my photo taken. And, how come this company put their staff in such awkward situation? so their policy is - ignore customers refuse and just snap a photo as fast as you can? I just find it hard to believe. Besides, the dude in front of me waved his hand, and the "photographer" left him alone. What was the different treatments about? Will never go up there again. Just had enough.

Loved it. Great view, and the luges are awesome. Did it two days in a row. You really want to avoid the busier times, as elder tourists will clog up the tracks. Definitely would recommend though, one of the highlights of Queenstown

The gondola ride is a bit quick to get a decent view and at $25 one way is quite expensive for what it is. I would suggest if you are fit and able to take the tiki trail instead. The views from the lookout are great and it is probably the easiest place to see some snow in Queenstown in early winter. The lookout cafe makes a decent coffee if you need something to warm you up.
Mark BurgessMay 26, 2018
Loved it! It’s around $70 for 2 adults and that’s just the gondola. Wear a jacket since it can get cold up there during this time if it’s not sunny. I recommend eating in town before going up here if you don’t want to spend that much at their cafeteria. You can get your photo taken before boarding and you can purchase one photo at the end of your trip there and that’s optional.

Slightly pricy, but if you go on a locals day it's pretty cheap. Runs are good, and they put warnings/close the runs if it's wet or slippery. Friendly and helpful staff, and great views of Queenstown. Worth a look if you have an hour or two

We walked up via the trail which was hard but fun! To our surprise they basically punish you for walking up and charge you $25 per person one way to go down which I find outrageous and a rip off. It’s sad how they abuse customers.

Incredible views with plenty of activities to do once you are up at the top. There is also a great restaurant and many gift shops. The staff are really friendly and are helpful if you ask any questions. If you like thrilling activities like luging and great things to do, I definitely recommend coming here, as this is one of the most exciting things to do in Queenstown (or ever). You won’t be disappointed.

Skyline Queenstown is a great place to come if you are travelling through Queenstown. The views are incredible with numerous activities to participate in at the top including luge riding. There is a luxurious buffet at the top and numerous gift shops with many unique souvenirs. I recommend coming here, it is a once in a lifetime opportunity.
