The Fleischmann Atmospherium Planetarium was built in 1963 on the University of Nevada, Reno campus. It was the first planetarium in the United States to feature a 360-degree projector capable of providing horizon-to-horizon images and through time-lapse photography showing an entire day's weather in a few minutes.
Currently it offers public star shows.
I have loved the Planetarium since I was a young kid. It's a very unique experience and excellent for kids to get some science. The shows are all fascinating and they are budget friendly. The kids always love the shows and exhibits as well as the gift shop. Great place!

I remember coming here as a kid with my dad. Great memories watching the stars, exploring the exhibitions, and learning about space. Not much has changed since then, but the goal of teaching people about our vast universe remains the same. I'm a bit disappointed they haven't renovated. I think UNR needs to invest more in this area. I watched "Black Holes" and it was awesome. I really did feel educated afterwards. It was about 40 minutes, and the ticket was only $6. The exhibition focused on our history in space, gravity, and showed some really cool artifacts. Even the small shop filled with little toys and knick knacks was interesting. I ended up getting a small geode. Plus if you check in they give you ten percent off. My interest in learning never stops, so I won't hesitate coming back again. For only a few bucks you can experience a wonderful showing about space, and it'll keep you entertained.

Spent 40$ on an uber ride just to show up in time for them to be closing early. The dome was also 'closed for maintainence' today. Really wish they hadn't said they were open until 8pm today. That was an expensive parking lot to stand in for 10 min.

movie can be cut short by few minutes minutes and can be made more interesting.

What a great activity we have right here in town. If you are into stars and the universe then this is the spot for you. They have a small variety of show and a changing exhibit. Parking is free. All you need to do is go inside and ask for a parking permit. You take it back to your car and stick it in the window. The parking garage is just after the entrance to KNPB Channel 5. The gift shop has some unique items. My favorite are magnetic rocks. The customer service here is spot on. I think Olivia was the name of the employee who sold us are tickets. She was very nice.

This is a very underrated spot in Reno. Took a quarter to get here on the Sierra Spirit. The planetarium is free and very informative. Wished I could have stayed for a show.

It's a fun place to visit. They have different programs for a minimal fee (to keep it all going). Great for kids and learning about the solar stem. You can touch a meteorite and see different examples. Gift shop had some unique items.
