Volcano House is a geology exhibition in Reykjavík, Iceland, located at Tryggvagata 11. The exhibition gives a brief overview of Iceland's geological history and volcanic systems. Every hour the Volcano House shows two documentaries, one about the volcanic eruption of Eyjafjallajökull in 2010 and one about the volcanic eruption in the Westman Islands in 1973. The mission of Volcano House is to give visitors a glimpse of the reality of living in Iceland, where volcanoes and earthquakes are a part of daily life.
Admission to the geology exhibition is free, but the documentary cinema is requires paid tickets.

Very informative. Good way to fill a gap during the day if weather not good or if between trips. Go early and you may even have the cinema to yourself. Staff very friendly and helpful.

This place makes you see Iceland for what it is and made me feel a little uneasy. It's a must to go to. Very good and free on a Friday night.

Genuinely really interesting! you watch 2 documentaries about recent eruptions and in the museum bit you can touch the ash from them. Pretty cool!

A nice relaxing spot, especially if you are interested in geology or the volcanos. The movies were interesting.

Video about their volcano eruptions shown every hour. Interesting informative. Lots of things to look at in the museum and store.

We did the free small exhibition. Nice overview of Iceland's volcanic past and some great rocks/pictures and other facts

It's free for the front section and the paid two part documentary is worth a watch.

It was nice to pop in and have a look at the various volcanic rocks - but we felt the video charge was a little bit too steep to warrant.

Pretty cool little volcano cinema. Included on the city card and open later than most attractions. It is very expensive but is discounted on the city card. the City Card is the smartest and most affordable way to explore Reykjavík. It has been tailor-made for visitors to the city, helping you to get the most out of your trip. Simply choose from a 24, 48, or 72-hour card and visit as many attractions as you want

$17 for 2 films that were about 30 minutes each. They were very interesting and I learned a lot about two specific valcanos in Iceland. The stuff around the store is also very cool and you could easily be in and out of there in 15 minutes. It is connected to a cafe so we initially missed it.

Worth a visit for the 2 movies alone (approx 45 minutes) covering 2 major eruptions in recent Icelandic history. Outside the movie room, the mini museum testifies to the real sense of pride that the Icelanders feel about the geology of their astonishing island.

An interesting little visitor centre and shop on all things volcanic. There's a little cinema showing a couple of films (about 55 minutes total) about recent volcanic eruptions in Iceland and their impact on the community and the world, which were very informative.

Fascinating! Even though the exhibit area is small, it is packed full of great information. The documentaries are excellent. We really enjoyed our visit to Volcano House!

Pretty interesting films, not much to do besides the films but we had a good time.
