The market is huge. The other reviews tell already about the market in general, but I want to share my enthousiasm about our most favorite place. In the same area with the fruits and vegetables is a corner where you can buy pastry. There is a tiny bar in the corner which sells the most delicious hand-craft beers. The best is that you cannot only buy it for take-away, but also drink it on the spot. I have tried 5 different beers during our stay in Riga (needed to come back to that place all over again) and they were all very different to each other, but equally delicious. The bar tender really knows about beers and happily shares his knowledge with the customers. If you go to Riga and you like good beer, you must visit there!

Walking along this impressive and enormous market brings reminiscences of 30 years back. The selection of food and other items is quite large. There is a pavilion for fish, one for meat, etc. The history of the place is also impressive: The buildings used to be zeppelin hangars which have been disassembled and brought here, to be converted into what we have today. A highlight of Riga.

Not many parking places. Very crowded. Quality of fruits and vegetables is good during summer, but most of them come from Poland. Fish quality could be better, but some sellers can send a message or keep some fresh fish for you on agreement. Night market in summer period is nice there, but prices are higher.

I love our market. You can find everything in one place,from fresh fish,meat,dairy,vegetables and fruit to household items,flowers and fashion. Anything you need,you will most defiantly find it in Riga's market.

This place is huge. Very nice to see all the local shops and selling local goods. Most of the things are very cheap. The place itself is amazing to see and it's overwhelming. A couple of halls full of markets and shops. Definitely recommend when you visit riga

A must-see in the heart of Riga! Located just backside of the central bus and railway station, at a walking distance from all main hotels and historical Old Town. Riga Central Market offers you an unique mix of products (all from home made pickles to new pair of boots !! - and everything in between). It's also a great contrast to posh shopping centres with luxury boutiques and marble floors ! This place is real, authentic and except the unique travel experience, it's harmless to your budget! Since the prices are 50-70% less than in the stores. Good advice is not to dress up, speak Russian (if you can) & keep an eye on the potential pickpockers.

Unfortunately this place is aimed mainly for the tourists, because prices sometimes are too high, but the quality is not the best. It has a very big variety of almost everything you need, indeed, but it's the main real advantage. P.S. If you like to buy something cheaper, than wait till the evening when sellers are making discounts for everything they didn't sell during the day.

A great market. One of the best in Europe. 100% the best place to go grocery shopping in Riga. You can buy anything here. Recently the city council has been working on improving the infrastructure. Many improvements are also awaited in the future. The only disadvantage is the neighbourhood. Watch your belingings and be careful. Pickpockets love working here! Otherwise it's a highly recommended place.

We didn't go there to buy stuff but they experience in itself is already worth a visit. The produce and especially the fish looked really good. The building complex itself is rather impressive as well. Finally the area around the market is pleasant and there is a lot going on.
