St. Peter's Church (Latvian: Svētā Pētera Evaņģēliski luteriskā baznīca) is a Lutheran church in Riga, the capital of Latvia, dedicated to Saint Peter. It is a parish church of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Latvia.
First mention of the St. Peter's Church is in records dating to 1209. The church was of masonry construction and therefore undamaged by a city fire in Riga that year. The history of the church can be divided into three distinct periods: two associated with Gothic and Romanesque building styles and the third with the early Baroque period. The middle section of the church was built during the 13th century, which encompasses the first period. The only remnants of this period are located in the outer nave walls and on the inside of a few pillars in the nave, around which larger pillars were later built.

Great views from the top. Plan your visit time according to the position of the sun, because otherwise you will end up with a lot of Shadows on your pictures.

A beautiful red brick church built in the early 13th century. It costs €3 person to enter the church and if you wish to go up the tower it'll cost €9. There's plenty of history behind this church so a visit is recommended.

A historic and architecture marvel, dates back to the year 1209. But as a touristic point I don't recommend it, they overcharge the price to climb the tower (11 euros), and the people is rude.

I like the church very much, it looks very beautiful from the outside, also on the inside, there's plenty to see and the tower is also very beautiful. However I think it is a bit overpriced going up to the tower.

"Gorgeous Church, Hostile Staff" One of the best architectures in Old Town, but the lady in the ticket office was very unfriendly. We didn't know the church tower was closed due to the wind, the staff told us nothing, when we wanna buy the tickets, simply saying one word "CLOSED!!" in such bad manner, Latvian people are generally friendly, this is an exceptional case. Anyone wanna visit, be prepared.

Great views around the whole of Riga from the tower. Beautiful architecture inside, if a little Lutheran and sparse.

Beautiful church and a testament to what can be built with clay brick. Thank goodness for steel as careful reinforcement is what is keeping it standing. Pay to go to the top of the steeple, it is a fantastic view of the city and they have an elevator so no excuses.

Beautiful church but you need to get tickets to to go in. Also it's an active church so can be uncomfortable to look inside when there are people actually praying and service in progress. From outside it looks very tall. If you are in Riga most likely you will come across this so you can check it out.

Its one of the important tourist points in Riga. It sits inside the old city and has a viewing platform *also has a big price tag for entry
