I took a guided tour in English, you can book it online. The place is still being worked on and so hard hats must be worn and visitors must stick with the guides. The guide on my tour was very nice but more of an archaelogist than a guide and so often the explanations were too technical for a general audience. Everything is underground and although most of the decoration is faded you can still get a good idea of how the place was. To give a better idea of the place they have a virtual reality show which allows you to "step outside" the palace for a look around. Definitely worth doing.

Amazing experience. Fully recommended Book your tickets online (ruins only opened on Weekends due restoration works during the week)

Excellent experience very well presented. But ignore google maps walking directions which take you to wrong section a very long way from correct entrance. You must enter the park from the colosseum side. There are toilets inside entrance to domus but no others in the park.

This was the best tour I did in Rome. It is all underground and my guide was fantastic and knew her stuff. The VR experience was breathtaking and did an excellent job depicting how the ruins would have looked 2000 years ago. I wish more tours utilized VR in this manner.

The 4D experience was one of the coolest things I did in Rome. Take the time to book a tour here and you won't regret it.
