Piazza Barberini is a large piazza in the centro storico or city center of Rome, Italy and situated on the Quirinal Hill. It was created in the 16th century but many of the surrounding buildings have subsequently been rebuilt.
The current appellation was given in 1625 when it was named after the Palazzo Barberini, the substantial Baroque palace built in an elevated position on the south side of the piazza for the Barberini. Originally, there was a large entrance gateway to the palace designed by the Baroque painter and architect Pietro da Cortona on the south east corner of the piazza but this was demolished to make way for the construction of a new road in the 19th century. However, its appearance is known from engravings and early photographs of the piazza.
The museum located nearby in the Palazzo Barberini is worth a visit. The surroundings are all very nice too but the Piazza is quite large compared to the smaller, more cosy Piazzas. It also doesn't have any seating for people other than the protective railings of the fountain. Cool Piazza with fantastic sculpture and photo opportunity. You can get cheap or expensive food in the area as well. Great for photos with changing light

Very delicious pizza and other coocked meals. Everything is made fresh and the menue changes daily. More than enough food options to choose from. Big portions on decent prices. The staff is friendly and speaks English. There is seating area on the first floor with A/C. The toilet is at the ground level and it's quite small, barely enough to turn around so don't bring any shopping bags and other bulky items with you in there.

Lovely Square with lots of great cafes and restaurants nearby. There is usually live music being played near the fountain, so you can sit there and have a listen as well. There are quite a few store and boutiques on the adjacent roads as well, if window shopping is more of your thing. Recommend going there on days that are sunny, especially the weekends.

Nice place with lot happening around it. Few good shopping option around. Over all a nice place spend an evening leisurely with few drinks and some quick bites.

Surrounded by traditional shops that have been there forever, so some look outdated in decor, but quality is great. Loose cobbles on the street, watch your step. A wonderful.sculpture in the middle. Cinema, bank, hotel transfer bus stop for Rome Cavalieri hotel, cafes. My favourite shop was an embroidery shop.
