Amazing artwork and great once in a lifetime experience. Would probably not revisit. Very crowded and can get quite warm with the crowds. If you observe closely, the ceiling artwork nicely summarizes Biblical events from Genesis to Revelations. Definitely a good reminder to believers and non-believers alike. Holy place. Just a reminder that photography is forbidden inside the Chapel. Anywhere outside (Museum and galleries) is fine. I cannot understand why visitors still sneak a photo or two in when you can get good quality prints in the bookstore after.

I am not religious but this place truly is Awesome! I had a guide who walked us through the Vatican Museum, you apparently can not just go straight to the Chappel you need to visit different areas 1st which was cool with the guide telling you a ton of facts about the place, you can rent light recorded information with headphones tap the numbers you see & it brings up the relevant information for you to listen don’t know how much they were to rent sorry, entire place was amazing with the chapel well up on my favourites list, no flash photography but I saw plenty of flashes going of, as I said earlier AWESOME! Treat your self to a slice of history that goes back to the days that Jesus walked the world. Enjoy!

Nice place to visit arrived at around 16.00 and the line was long but moved fast. Only had to wait for ca 40 minutes. When entering the view is amazing. You could spend hours in there. Also there is a shop we you can buy souvenirs and Christian accessories

I've never seen more beautiful paintings before. Very holy. Micheal Angelo sure did do a great job drawing. The vibe there is something you can only feel when you're there.

Amazing, astonishing, brilliant, superb, what else could be said? Michelangelo did a wonderful job, much to his displeasure because he felt he was forced to finish something he was not fond of. Thankfully the restoration performed in the 90's brought back to life those magnificent colors

I was in awe as I sat in this room looking up at such a fantastic piece of history. It was the culmination of the visit to Vatican City. I had an audio guide from Rick Steves to listen to, and I'm glad I did. It was a great explanation of some of the chapel, how it was done, why, and how long it took. I had never looked up too much info on it, but I was surprised at how much detail was really in it. It was worth every minute of my time and I am so glad I got to go to it. Go visit it and see the wonderful piece of art history. Download an audio guide to get the most out of it.

I don't often give something 5 stars, but the Sistine Chapel gets it, even when sharing it with over a thousand tourists. It is simply magnificent and the artworks are incredible. To think what they achieved is a superb feat of craftsmanship and creativity. When in Rome this should be your number one attraction. Wow!

Sistine Chapel is amazing. Pay a little extra for small group tour makes the experience more enjoyable. Knees and shoulders must be covered for the chapel!!! This surprised some people and they were not allowed access.

AMAZING!!! is about the only word I can think of. Recommend using the "Roman Guy" tour to get in early and beat the crowd. Unfortunately you can't take pictures but you can sit against the wall and look for hours.

Is worth seeing and is beautiful! However I found it hard to believe it was a church, so many tourists chatting and pointing... security herding people like cattle....only slight respectful thing was that you weren’t allowed to take photos... If going to marvel at the art you will enjoy.. if going to find a spiritual element, prepare to be disappointed.

What a magnificent sight to behold! It is worth the price to do a guided tour because you don't wait in the longest line in the world! CityWonders Dark Rome Guided Tour of the Vatican total cost for 2 people is $154.61. The tour is 3 hours long and you get to go into Saint Peters Basilica. Well worth the price, as there is so much to see it could overwhelm you to the point of exhaustion! There are so many people walking around having a tour guide is the sensible choice.

STUNNING. Use any of the "Skip the line" programs available; completely worth it, unless you fancy standing outside in a standstill of people for hours upon hours in the sweltering heat. The halls of museums on the way are incredible, but NOTHING holds a candle to being inside the Chapel. If you can, try to coordinate your visit inside around when a priest is there for a prayer; for a non-religious person brought up Roman Catholic, it was VERY special.

Pictures are not allowed directly in the Sistine chapel, but are allowed everywhere else in the museum. Please cover your shoulders and knees when visiting, as is the dress code. VERY large and spacious, yet is filled to the brim with tourists trying to see it too.

Mikey Angelo did a pretty good job when he painted this place. Using a color palette that is subdued is really complementary to the old timey style of architecture decor used. Which, by the way, the owners really took the time and expense to make this place look really old. It's amazing how these newer parks can make things look so old, like it's been there for 500 years or something. Anyhow for some reason photos were not allowed to be taken inside this chapel, so I did some quick sketches so you could get the feel of the place - come to find out that you can't submit hand drawn sketches. I drew them from memory because I didn't bring a note book with me, so they might be a little of on scale. It's odd that it's called a chapel because there isn't any seating, which would make for a really long ordeal; even if you did have a close relationship with an imaginary friend. I wasn't able to figure out if you could rent the room for a reception, work party, or a Friday night mosh pit (which would be awesome). When I asked the management didn't seem to understand what I was asking about. All that said, it was a fun time checking it out. The only line I've ever been in that I thought was moving to fast, because of all the other stuff to look at on the way in through the hallways into this place.

Amazing building drenched with history. A must visit in Rome. Beautiful interior with exquisite artwork. The Vatican is huge. Must spend at least a few hours here to fully appreciate it all.
